DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

WW is starting off well so far.

 @ the beginning of the No Man's Land scene. I was expecting something wild dope and exciting. This was mad overdramatic to start.

In the village though, reminded me of an extended version of Bats scene in BvS.

 @ the sniper getting wrecked.

This ending was too long and whack.

Overall 5.6/8. Can't say I didnt like it but can't really say I liked it. The other fight scenes were good. May have to give it a second watch at some point. Definitely a mix of Cap1 and Thor1 and on that level of quality and entertainment.

According to The Aquaman Shrine, they recently attended a Warner Bros. licensing event and saw a Halloween costume for the movie which is "exactly" like the version we see in the comics today.

A statue started doing the rounds last year showing Momoa suited up in that costume (which you can see below) and while it was thought to be fan-made, it now seems far more likely that it's real.

The beginning felt cheesey like wild melodramatic.

When she got in the village it was cool.

I dunno if it was the cgi of the superhuman moves she was doing but it was like I could instantly see the green screen action scenes.

The action was good though.

It was said DC was doing a line of standalone(nothing to do with DCEU) films with DC characters so I guess this falls into that category. But I'm not sure if Reeves's Batman is in this category too.

Confusing I know...

Are you talking about when it's all slow mo and she's climbing out the trenches?

Todd Phillips' The Joker though? How?
Dude that did the Hangover is making a Joker movie.

Whoever is doing this new DC studio gave him the okay

Either way Joaquin is a great actor. At this point I'm past being disappointed in DC. They got did of Snyder. That'll have to be enough.

By 2022, the MCU probably gonna be releasing Avengers, Guardians, Spidey, and X-Men, F4, BP movies a year.

Yes.

Near cringe. Slow-mo blocking of the bullets, the entire argument before climbing out, etc.

I didn't take it that serious so I didn't expect much but something didn't all the way mesh for me.

However, it did do a better job of depicting some of the horror of WWI than the First Avenger did with WWII.

i really dont get why they would confuse the viewer with these side movies. the universe is not doing too well. the last thing you want to do is confuse people.

should have went with joaquin in the first place

I really enjoyed the music during the No Man's Land scene. Here it is:

Just some trivia, but Rupert Gregson-Williams did the score for WW.
He is actually the brother of Harry Gregson-Williams who has done scores for movie like Speed and he did the Metal Gear Solid 2 theme.

lol @ ppl getting confused with alternate universes.. happens all the time in comics

Think of it this way, its just another chance for a DC movie to do good.

Sure moviegoers will wonder why Jared Leto isn't in this movie or why Joaquin isn't in the next movie but I do think sooner than later the DCEU will get semi-rebooted anyway.

Also, no way Joaquin was gonna be a part of Suicide Squad. Whole reason he turned down Dr. Strange is cuz he didn't want to be locked down for multiple movies.

Comic fans are way different, smarter/nerdier than the casual moviegoer.

We use to talk about how some casuals would ask why Batman wasn't in Avengers  Of course they won't know the difference between a main and alternate universe movie.
