DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

Yup, I’m officially off the DC bandwagon. SMH.

You know, way back like 12-13 years ago I wondered why a studio making superhero flicks or studios didn't just go after the sure fire great directors that make bank; Spielberg, Howard, Coppola, Scorsese, etc. Its just that later on it would be revealed many of them do not like superhero flicks for one reason or the other.

Unfortunately, since to me he's made trash movies for years now, Bay would be a director you go to direct certain superhero movies. Of course after what he did to Transformers there's no way he should be.

Not sure what DC is on making this kind of choice. Like you finally get out from under the nightmare that is Snyder and you now consider the Baymare? Good thing its only Lobo (for now).

Lobo is a simple character that's a vessel for testosterone filled gratuitous action. Lobo's a satire of 80s and 90s action stars with motorcycles, big guns, and cigars. Terminator, Predator, Rambo, Die Hard. I haven't liked a Bay movie in a long time. (Wasn't a fan of Pain and Gain.) Def wasn't a fan of how the Turtles were handled in the TMNT movie he produced, but I think he might work for Lobo. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Unless they do New 52 Lobo. Then we're all ******.

:rollin If they trot out emo looking New52 Lobo, DC needs to close up shop.

Thay'd be worse than the GL movie, on par with the Jonah Hex flick.

New 52 Lobo was the definition of doing too much. What a dumb idea.

If they go classic Lobo and double down on explosions and bullets spraying everywhere, I think Frank Grillo would be a dope choice to play The Main Man.

The fact that DC even considered casting someone like Zachary Levi tells me that DC is trying to get their dark days behind them.

They spent way too long letting Snyder influencing everything.

I was reading an article yesterday and it had a point. Snyder's style should be a specialty that takes up a corner of a universe, kinda like how James Gunn's comedic style is relegated to a corner of a universe. In no way should either style be a blueprint for a connected universe though.

I wonder who has been saying this for a min now.. in this thread.. several times
