DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

i mean.. why wouldn't DCEU fans want another version of the Joker.. MCU out here working on flying cars while DCEU tries to figure out how to make a wheel roll properly.

I love DC too much to give up on them. I think this next wave of films is going to be better. Aquaman, Shazam, Wonder Woman 2, Gareth Evans' Deathstroke (apparently he was offered JLD, but he pitched Deathstroke), Gavin O'Connor's Suicide Squad 2, Matt Reeve's Batman, and hopefully they get crackin' on GLC and JLD. Only concern is the unproven guys they got for Flashpoint. They got a couple of writers from Spider-Man: Homecoming to direct it.

Damn, DC scooped up Gareth Evans? :{

Hopefully that falls a part and he comes to Marvel to do something with Shang-Chi

Have a feeling he will be relegated to the Marvel Netflix side of things...
Nah man, pretty sure Marvel has limited Netflix and we won't be seeing any new shows since Disney is about to launch their own streaming service. Wont be more than the 5-6 shows they currently have.

I use to think the same. Also I kinda doubt now, he'll just show up as a supporting character in Iron Fist.

If not Zhang then Gareth needs to get busy with that Blade reboot.

The DCEU will hopefully get on track. What i want to see is a superman cameo in every film.. There's no coincidence that the universe has fared evenly along with the portrayal of Superman. Superman should be felt in just about every story (except for Maybe Aquaman) in the DCEU for a little while. Even if it is to come in and give guidance, as he's rumored to be doing in Shazam, or if its a news segment worked into the film about him saving lives in Metropolis. I didn't realize how badly we needed him til they butchered him in JL.

Superman can cameo in Shazam, but WW2 is another period piece, and I don't think Supes needs to be in Aquaman. Besides, he's def going to get a sequel. 8o Bet that.

It's about to be Big Blue's 80th. Action Comics is reaching it's millennial issue. There's all these directors like Matthew Vaughn, Darren Aronofsky, and J.A. Bayona who want to direct a Superman sequel. Even in the Frankenstein's monster that was JL, Superman was pretty sweet. (Except for the mouth CG.) No doubt in my mind that there's going to be a MOS2.

I had read some piece saying they should use Superman the way the MCU used Nick Fury in the early days leading up to Avengers.

I didn't like the idea of it but it might work if dome slightly differently for Supes.

Yeah that narrative ain't gon cut it no more. No matter the criticism, damn near everybody in here is still watching and paying for these movies . We're also comic book fans so the we want to see it's demise nonsense ain't gon work. They need to put out good material. Plain and simple.

DCEU ain't going nowhere. Yall wishing for it's demise are laughable.
I know it's hard for you to see - even RFX - but I want the DCEU to prosper

Doesn't mean that I'd ignore when DCEU does something I disagree with or think is a poor move

I'll never understand why you guys think giving passes for everything dc/wb do is the only way to be on DC's side

it's not a pass, some people just genuinely like it, it's like people calling those who actually like FoXmen films over MCU crazy or insane and completely blast them for it, I disagree but I am not going to insult them in the process

and obviously despite the mustache-gate and underwhelming box office, JL was a step in the right direction, I mean it definitely wasn't obliterated by NTers like BvS was, it wasn't a huge leap but they took baby steps in the correct path

answer this though amel, have you seen JL yet? at this point if you still haven't seen it, i feel like you really shouldn't be talking because many here who hated BvS with a passion, actually liked JL

I mean people always say "no one wants to see DC/Fox fail" but when you got people talking without seeing the film or saying "im in the theater to see JL, it is empty on opening night, what a day to be alive..." then obviously there are people out there looking for others to fail

this really isn't what I want to argue on BP-day because I am just filled with positivity right now but it's just being blind to say that "no one wants DC/Fox/Sony to fail", it might be a very, very minute number of members but they are out there

and again, nothing against you amel but I see you talk about DCEU a lot when you really haven't officially judged films like JL yourself

watch, judge it for yourself then your argument becomes more valid

but yeah, lets all just enjoy BP-weekend and leave all the negativity behind until DCs next failed release at least

BP drops tomorrow and we still need to talk about how rough DC is doing right now. :lol

Anyone else reading Metal? The Wild Hunt tie-in was pretty wavy.

They discovered a 53rd universe with an all simian Justice League who called out to Detective Chimp. Metal's been nuts. :lol :hat

And Doomsday Clock too. :hat

waiting til it's all done and collected in one graphic novel, its the only way I can read cb's these days

Damn. I'm not a trade person. I'd probably read way less because I like giving different books a try with #1's. Plus those beautiful foil covers. :eek It looks like they're going to have a separate TPB for the main event and the tie-in's. Just make sure you read them in order. There's stuff that happens in them that actually contribute to the story. Not the tie-in's from the Rebirth ongoings though. Those are skippable.

Seeing the leaked/unreleased material just opens new wounds.. will not be buying this cut of the film.. MOS and BVS ( Extended cut) were Masterpieces in comparison to FrankenLeague. SMH

yah I just can't do the visit the store every wednesday thing, it all adds up too

any recommendations for recent TPBs that are good reading?

i've heard good things about War of Jokes & Riddles by Tom King so that's probably my next pick, actually seems like anything Tom King Batman seems good right now so I might just pick up the first 3 volumes too

This!

I been following videos on youtube check out "dopespill" good videos on various stories and depths of characters most may not know about.

He's done a videos through the Metal series and I don't care if i'm spoiled I'm gonna read the whole thing. The side stories are just as good as the main part..... The Batman Who Laughs.....
