Whether we like it or not....all they're going to be losing is Nelson. and the transfer of King.....they get the addition of Elliot Williams.
And the ACC is going to be awful again..
Still no inside presence, but no reason they won't do what they did this year and have a good start to the season and then lose in the 2nd round or Sweet 16
I'll concede that they'll be a top 10 team all year again, only because they won't play a true OOC road game, and will benefit from having a cakewalk in the ACC. They will lose early in the tourney next year too. This team has crippled down the stretch the last three seasons. They have nothing that makes me believe they can be a special team. I just find it absurd that this loser put them in his top 10 after they got absolutely embarrassed in the tournament and their team remains practically the same. Duke wasn't even a top 20 team after the tournament in my eyes. The rankings aren't post season/tournament rankings anyway, so if they will be a top 10 team all season, why is it absurd to rank them there?
5. KANSAS - Senior All-Americas are a dying breed, but KU should have one in point guard Mario Chalmers -- plus a breakout star in Sherron Collins, who finished an injury-riddled season with a superb performance off the bench in the title game.

They schedule has as many hard OOC games as MOST other elite teams, both at home and on the road. UNC certainly doesn't play a tougher schedule than them from year to year.
You can dislike/criticize Duke all you want, it's to be expected. But there is a reason they are consistently mentioned as one of the elite teams of the last 2 decades. They win consistently, are ranked in the top 10 consistently, and have made more than their fair share of Sweet 16s (before the last 2 years, they set a NCAA record for most consecutive) and Final Fours. Them being ranked in the top ten last year was not a fluke, they played their schedule and beat almost every good team they faced. It will be more of the same in this coming season, they will win games, play great in the regular season, and be ranked highly for the majority of the year. Then the tournament will come around and most likely they will not make it past the Sweet 16.
Carry on.

In the last four seasons they've played @ Temple and @ Indiana. That's it for true road games. Neutral sites aren't true road games.
Officially the rankings aren't based on last year's tournament, but you're kidding yourself if you think it doesn't have some influence on voters' minds.
Them being ranked in the top 10 was a fluke, evident by their near loss to lowly Belmont and their pathetic performance against WVU. And if you're conceding that they will lose early in the tournament again next year, why do you think they're anything special? Of course they'll be ranked high; they're Duke. I'm sure they'll be in the top 7 to start the year. But they won't deserve it.

DreClark, keep your head up, just wait 5 seasons...
Wake's freshman from this past year were legit, too. Johnson and Teague.
And they got my man Ishmael Smith in the backcourt....He is DUMB fast....
