Bulls offseason Thread

good riddance to mr glass

nate needs to be paid to stay in blk n red period

still 50/50 on the dangaling of lu/booz/cha pick & /the prospect

and im not sure whats your point about McClanaghan is. he had zero to do with rose coming back from his ACL. and most of his other guys hurt there knees. you really going to blame that on him. thats just nitpicking on a non issue

Not even trying to argue but you kind of proved my point with that entire statement, grover not just a basketball trainer he's a rehab and pre injury specialist, so dont you think that would come in handy a lot more than just a basketball trainer in rose situation.... Maybe im nit picking maybe im not but red flags are raised when three superstar gaurds you train are out with knee injuries ill let you decide.... i just want rose back healthy for now and beyond nothin wrong exploring options

Luol Deng The NBA All Star and Humanitarian: A Day In The Life

A week after the Bulls beat the Miami Heat to end their 27-game win streak, Life+Times flew me out to Chicago to spend a few days with their All-Star forward Luol Deng. In what is easily the best shoot I’ve been a part of since joining the team, we follow Deng from the Bulls training facility to his home and end up at the United Center for their match-up with the New York Knicks. In the 20-minute doc, Luol goes into detail about his days at Duke, responsibilities to his team (which showed in his absence during the Bulls losing efforts against the same Heat team in the playoffs), making the 2013 All Star team and his humanitarian efforts in expanding basketball across his native country of South Sudan and the rest of Africa, plays FIFA with his boys (shouts to ANTHM) and prepares for game time.

Im a big Luol fan but i do think the Bulls will explore trading him. My thoughts on Deng is that the team can win a championship with him as long as he isnt the 2nd option. His defense is elite and hes probably the only guy in the league that can somewhat contain LeBron. If the Bulls expect to get passed miami they will need that defense.

Jimmy Butler can be a legit star in the league. He has taken a big step forward this season and as his confidence grows so will his skills. Hopefully he works like a madman this offseason and we can see what hes really about. His defense is tight but still needs work. His offense is easily capable 18-22ppg. I would love to see him more aggressive offensively though. He took too much of a back seat to other guys and didnt command the ball more. I know its only his second year but with the way the season turned out i feel he should have been more assertive in wanting the ball as imo he was the most versatile scorer they had.

Boozer will be here at least another year. Love him or hate him he had a really good year and could have been an all star. There were stretches during the season where he carried the team. Bad series against miami but everyone has a bad series against them. His defense remains a problem. He did better this year with more effort but still atrocious. Lost cause imo. If you cant defend you better have 25 and 12.

Nate is probably gone. Hes gotta take advantage of a potential big payday and he deserves it. I know he loves it here and the Bulls have given him his biggest role yet but someone out there will give him a few mil.

Kirk cant stay healthy and it would have been nice to give Teague more playing time this season to get him ready for 2013/14.

I'd like to see Taj step his game up offensively. It feels like he took a step back this season. He should be a guaranteed 10-12ppg and 8rpg off the bench.

All in all it was a great season and i expect a healthy team next year. Not sure what moves are available to take the team to the next level. We know Kevin Love is the name thats been floating around and he is easily the best PF in the game. Thats gonna cost.
Miro is still a mystery. They say hes a Kucoc type player but you never know Euro players are until they play here.

okay since we're just throwing names out there...how about a sign and trade for Josh Smith??? Plays defense, can score in lowpost and on perimeter and clearly not a chemistry problem

wouldnt be a chemistry problem? have you seen smith play in ATL? he would be a horrible pick up

Josh Smith is a freak athlete but not the smartest player. Hes the guy that can kill his teams run by taking dumb 18-20 jumpers in transition.

I suggested Josh because he never had true leaders around him in ATL. I have seen him jack up threes, but everyone on that team has a go-for-mine mentality. And I said he didnt appear be a chemistry issue because of how he handled his contractsituation. Alot of the divas in the league would faked injury and shut it down.

Probably won't even be in the running for him...no action til the week of the draft

I'd love to somehow get Klay Thompson although there's a snowball chance in hell

Snowball chance in hell  . they wouldn't even give him up for Harden :smh:

The real question is should we have gotten David Lee instead of Boozer? :nerd: ... I know he's injury prone but he puts up stats and plays D when healthy

you answered your own question with "injury prone"

This is the problem when your team is sent fishing.....you want to enjoy the summer, but damn you wanna see your team get started again.

Meant there isn't and I'm sorry but I would've traded him for Harden in a heartbeat. But hey I value 6'5" guards who can shoot & create.

Let's see what Jimmy Buckets works on this offseason. Tighten up his handle, work on some go to off the dribble moves, and of course keep improving his J. We have may have a 6'5" guard who can do both?

I thought some people were crazy before last season saying Butler was already better than Brewer at that moment. I'm glad I was wrong.
