this just made me sick while reading it

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – It was less than four years ago that Josh Howard earned $10 million for the NBA season. He was playing for the Washington Wizards in the third season of a four-year, $40 million extension the Dallas Mavericks had given him. A former All-Star, the 2003 ACC Player of the Year at Wake Forest, and still just 30 years old, Howard appeared to have a handful of productive NBA seasons still ahead of him.

Then he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Two years later, he suffered a meniscus tear in the same knee. Nine months after that, he tore the ACL in his right knee.

All of which helps explain why Howard is currently playing for the Austin Toros in the NBA's Development League, making $25,000 for the season.

I dont know who told me i was too pessimistic and not watching any games with rose this season.
Indeed i did not watch any full game but i expressed my doubts that rose could be really back to mvp form
Constantly.
Now rose only averaged 16 ppg and shot a poor 35% from the field.
And on the top injuries his knee again despite sitting out more than a whole season.
I feell really bad but i think rose wont join the club of mj, kobe and lebron but rather the club of ralph sampson, penny Hardaway and grant hill :frown:

I really want to know what the purpose of saying he's going end up like some of the guys mentioned i.e: sampson?

Why? Other than to upset people more... I see I'll be in this thread less and less :smh:

I had a few meetings cancel this morning, so here.

Point here is, we need a bigger tank

But in all seriousness though only one team has been successful in tanking and that's the Spurs when they got TD.

The play for pride season was last year, so I'm really curious to see how the players and Thibs go forward from the Jazz game. I mean, it should be the absolute low point right?

Anyways, the FO has its work cut out for it as the danger is being stuck in basketball hell.

Nonetheless, may you and your families have a blessed and safe Thanksgiving!

GM says Bulls won't overhaul roster

Calling Derrick Rose's torn medial meniscus in his right knee "a freak injury," Chicago Bulls general manager Gar Forman said Tuesday the team is "positioned well" and has no immediate plans to make dramatic changes to the roster.

"With this type of injury, he should come back 100 percent," Forman said by phone with ESPNChicago.com, a day after Rose had surgery that will sideline him the rest of the season. "With the previous [ACL] injury, that leg is strong and we saw the explosiveness and reactivity and speed, and then it was just [a matter of] getting into rhythm.

"Though this is a severe injury, it's not as severe as the other. He'll get over it and be able to get his career back to the highest level."

Saying Rose is "really out" for the season, despite the Bulls' potential postseason activity, Forman said it is premature to talk about potential trades or, as much as the team's fan base and media have suggested, re-building.

"This just happened. It's too early to start to go down that road," Forman said. "From an organizational standpoint, our front office, not just this year but every year, we always evaluate our team, where we're at, how we can get better. ...

"We're not going to make rash decisions. We feel we have a bright future ahead and we're positioned well. We have good players in their 20s, Derrick is going to come back, we're positioned well with draft picks into the future and we have some level of flexibility which we haven't had under this new CBA."

Forman said the experience the players gained from being without Rose last season and still taking the Miami Heat to five games in the second round of the playoffs gives the organization confidence that the "team culture," led by coach Tom Thibodeau, gives it a chance to be competitive in the postseason again.

Does the team have the physical stamina, however, to do it a second year in a row?

"I know we have the makeup and character in that locker room," Forman said. "I know guys will continue to work."

Asked again if the franchise is still confident it can build its team around Rose, Forman did not hesitate.

"Yeah, he's obviously a big, big part of our future," he said. "This was a freak injury. According to doctors, it had nothing to do with over-compensating or any type weakness or any type of fatigue. It was just a freak injury."

I personally think after all said and done deng may actually get resigned. Some of you may not like that but reality needs to kick in teams no were weak, no one is even offering 60% value of deng. I see Boozer getting the amnesty and them going with the foreign guy the charlotte draft pick and one MLE scorer.

Another sad point but has to be said Rose may come back fine and I hope so but players around the league are doubting that after back to back injuries, with this in mind big names arent thinking they want to team with rose any more thats the reality.

BTW I see nothing wrong with Deng for Eric Gordon, I think ppl forgot how nice EG is him and derrick could be special.

I heard a few rumors that Deng will be signed long-term. We shall see.

I'm with you though, I wouldn't mind reuniting these two:

exactly i dont agree with it but its no secret Gordon mentally shut down the moment the pelicans resigned him he wanted no parts and told the owner and FO that but they did it anyway and he been in numerous fights with the coach. He was an emerging star with the clippers. Put him and Rose together and watch

I'm not sold on a backcourt of Rose and Gordon getting us past Miami or Indy to be honest. Now if you add a legit PF to the mix, Love/Aldridge, then we might be heading in the right direction.

Those two guys personally like Rose a lot especially Love, but from a business aspect teaming with rose looks very shaky now in the eyes of players around the league. A lot of ppl are labeling him done. Do I think this is true no but perception is huge in signing free agents.

I agree with the perception around the league. Do you guys think he can come back and be the same player he was before the ACL injury?

after seeing him this year and how it was all coming together I do think he will be fine. I do think However our training staff needs to be looked at because as I said before one game rest for a hamstring strain is not ok in my book for a player trying to build his body back up for NBA action.

wtf is the FO talking about. are they not seeing what we're seeing. No overhaul well they better figure something out fast. i feel like the FO doesnt want to win as crazy as that sounds. i havent understood the FO since Jerry Krause and the moves they make.

just checked the 2012 NBA draft and who could we have really gotten other than Teague. That was a draft full of bums. Now DROSE is out put the young bull out there and lets see what he can do. what do we have to lose honestly. Thibbs needs to show some confidence in him even if he has none. I never notice the faces Thibbs make at Teague
laugh.gif

Other than Draymond Green, there was really no one else to draft at that point. The majority of the players drafted after Teague aren't even on NBA rosters or still overseas like Mirotic :rolleyes

Says who? A blind bulls fan?
I love the bulls but rose seems to be another injury plagued player. I dont like his attitude.
U know what separates jordan from rose ?
Jordan is a type of player who plays despite of sickness and injuries, comes back earlier than expected. Rose had the chance to play last season to join the playoffs but instead sat out whole season.
Can u imagine jordan not wanting to play if the doctor gave him the ok?

I don't really like to compare anyone to MJ, he was a different breed of player and his pain tolerance was on another planet. Outside of Kobe, and maybe LeBron but he hasn't had a real injury yet, who else can you say plays through everything you mentioned?

You don't like his attitude? Please explain

Basically Mike was lucky enough to only suffer one semi serious injury his entire career (the broken foot). As a person who relied on his athleticism a lot can you imagine if Mike was unfortunate enough to actually tear something in his knee? People have made Mike this folk lore and it's low key disgusting. tbh.

People need to stop holding his balls acting like he's the end all be all. **** is tiring.

I try to explain.
First of all i mean not personality, because i think rose is rather a humble person while jordan was a real diva on court and yelled a lot towards his teammates especially before his 1st retirement.

What i dont like about rose attitude is that he didnt dare to comeback for the playoffs of last season.
It is questionable if you are the teams top player abd dont give itca try to help the team to increase the chance to win important games.
Its very basic thing.
If you have the chance to change something you should try and not think about failure.
If you think ur team might be better off without you despite you are physically ok to compete then you dont havecthe heartvto become a champion.

Sorry about the typos. Hate using smartphone ^^

Everything you just typed is soooo far from rational/logical that I'm having trouble believing that you actually think this way.

He didn't play a SINGLE ******G SECOND OF A GAME last year and you're upset that he didn't attempt to come back during thee most heightened time of the year? It was reported that he was having issues moving right, but because he's medically cleared, that doesn't matter he should go out there? That's smart to you? That makes sense to you?

And that heart of a champion **** you just said was complete and utter mularky fam. :smh:
