Brooklyn Center Shooting - RIP Daunte Wright

I agree with what you said regarding nothing justifying him being dead.
you seem like a level-headed individual so I genuinely ask:
if you had Black children would you advise them to behave as this young man did during this interaction?
again, what he did doesn't justify him being shot..i just literally want to know if you would condone behaving in that manner if that was your child.

when we do have children, they will be black and when the time comes of course I would tell them to put pride aside and simply do as they are told, however human nature and instincts come in to play, the narrative of what the cop feared will be highlighted, but what about what a young 21 year black man feared being cuffed by cops? Maybe his parents had the talk with him, but maybe his instincts had him react the way he did, regardless the cop is the one with the training, Daunte and this officer are not on the same playing field, the cop should have known better NOT the victim.

with full pension i'm sure

This just keeps getting worst, resigned? I mean after 25 years, she was close to retirement anyways, so she kills someone and gets to retire early...Damn what a cool job indeed.

Why do only black parents have to teach their kids how to interact with the police? That's the question you need to be asking.
Why do I need to ask that when I already know the answer:
Because we live in a country that was built on racist ideals, laws and practices.
That is the reality. That's why we have to teach our children how to interact with police.
I wish ya'll would stop with the generic talking points man lol.

Man, all I’m saying is if dude doesn’t resist, he’ll still be alive. We can both be right.

Props for being an ally I guess

OR...if a 25 year veteran of the force could tell the difference between a taser and a handgun he'll still be alive. But continue to harp on the mistakes of a 20 year old kid surrounded by cops in todays climate if that does something for you.

You're not an ally and I highly doubt you're black. You use the n word like white folks tryna be down.

They always play this "I made a mistake" game. It's people doing life for a mistake. It's people doing 20, 30 years for non-violent mistakes. This country is so f'ed up that regular everyday people are held to a higher standard than police. You can be the goofiest, clumsiest, racist piece of **** and be a cop.

It is literally a job of a police officer to calm situations down. They serve and protect, says So on their badges and cars. Nowhere does it say we will shoot and kill you. We talked about this before, white kids shoot down whole high schools and walk away. Terrorist storm the capital and get walked down the steps to go home by the cops.

3 cops to 1 kid means you will NEVER need a weapon for him.. if you can’t physically handle that then quit. They escalated the situation from the very beginning. If you are afraid for your life then too bad, it’s their job to be in harms way.

without saying too much, some of ya'll dudes have a weird fascination with all things Black, including Black trauma.
it's not like y'all are true allies anyway.
Your support starts and ends with your empty condolences and fake outrage on this message board, or a blackout post on social media.
You are of no real assistance, and your commentary really comes off as yet another attempt for yall to identify with us when you really don't lol.
you'll never live the same struggle,
and I think we would all be better served if we focused on the struggles of our respective cultures.
divert some of this energy to that "Stop ***** ****" movement instead of offering your opinion on the plight of my community.

Unfortunately they've scammed the entire nation into believing this nonsense. "Protect and Serve" was literally a PR job by the LAPD to try and rehab their image I believe in the 80s. It's complete BS that has been backed up by the supreme court several times that cops are under no obligation to protect or serve any of us.

Wheres your support? What assistance are you offering? How is your commentary coming off?

These white folks can stay on code but its always some smart dumb ****** need to come in and victim blame. Yes suh, yes masa house ***** types. At least I can tell what side these racist POSs are on. You on the other hand....the fact theres even a doubt in 1 persons mind, let alone a whole thread of people should lead you to reevaluate your stance if you truly care about the plight of "your" community.

Are you even Black?
If not, refrain from addressing me man lol.
You focusing some garbage faux outrage at me like I engaged you in conversation all while ignoring the facts:
this dude had his destiny in his own hands and he chose to start a chain of events that led to his untimely demise.
Why is that so hard to understand? lol
The black cop even told him "No, don't do that" lol
Ya'll really live in a fairy-tale world where its impossible to see that sometimes we are at fault for the tragedies that befall us.

The wrongful sending of a court appearance was all in his hands folks. His “chain of events”. Nothing to see here according to this guy :lol

You're right man.
It was within his lawful right to resist arrest and escalate the situation.
You're right man.
Some of you dudes are contrarians just for the sake of being so.
You have over 39k posts on this board.
I know you lame and I'm doing myself a disservice by even engaging you.
I know by now you're due to go make sure the buttons on your fight pad are functional so I won't even bother with you anymore.

So, you didn't sense the sarcasm in that statement?
In order for the sarcasm to work someone would've had to have said something similar and said it seriously.

I'm asking where you're deriving your sarcasm from.

Also lol @ calling everyone else "contrarians"

Ill try again since it seems you had trouble comprehending.

What assistance are you offering. What support? And how do you think your commentary is coming off?

At least you admitted you belive this young man is at fault for the tradgedy that befell him. Funny since the entire world including the officer involved and the chief of police belive he died as a result of a mistake/accident on the part of the officer. But ima let you rock with your hot take.

Just dont questions my blackness when you going above and beyond even what the police themselves are saying to justify this.

So you really think that I need to prove my value to someone who has adopted the persona of two black drug dealers who poisoned their respective communities?
Stop it.
you are just one of a bunch of people in here spewing fake outrage because this is at the forefront of the news cycle.
your opinion doesn't matter to me. It will never matter to me.
You want to seem sympathetic and important all while ignoring the facts.
that man's life was his own. he chose to endanger it by acting foolishly.
both him and that cop were idiots.
take it how you want to take it.

Ill go ahead and assume by your lack of response twice now that you are doing exactly nothing to support or assist "your" community meanwhile chastising people in here for being disingenuous or having fake sympathy. You're a cop apologist, most likely white and not very bright. Your responses did far more to prove my point than I ever could, congrats you played yourself. Enjoy your evening sir.
