Barack Obama wins nobel peace prize

Never in the history of mankind has so much been given to someone who has talked so big and done so little for so few. I actually feel bad for Pres. Obama. HeMUST be embarrassed to receive this award.

That is a skill that is good to see in someone who is our chief diplomat.

I didn't understand one word of this

If you're not black I wouldn't expect you to understand. If you only view him as a politician I wouldn't expect you to understand.
Aren't we supposed to only look at him as a politician not based on race

.......under normal circumstances....yes

. but not in this case.

It is because the Nobel peace prize is a joke. It is a socialist committee giving its most prestigious prize to a rock star socialist. It doesn't reallymatter. The Nobel peace Prize committee has a laughable history of giving this prize to undeserving candidates with a political view akin to its own. Ourpresident is less president and more celebrity. it is embarrassing for us as citizens of this country.

I could care less what that committee does with their prize. I am not mad, I am just laughing.

Betty Williams, Mairead Corrigan, Menachem Begin, Anwar Sadat, Yassir Arafat, Shimon Peres and Yitzhak Rabin, Henry Kissinger and Le Duc Tho.
The committee has a HORRIBLE track record. The achievements of all previous winners have been diminished.

- understand, i agree with both sides. should we only look at our president as our cheif politician not based on race...sure, generally yes. but being a blackmale i do recognize that we need a boost of some sort, something, anything, when i take a look a the many problems we just cant seem to shake in the blackcommunity.

- i dont know about the whole 'movement' thing. im only speaking on looking at him other than just another president. i mean this man has the potentialto be able to single-handedly spark a major change in our education of self and what we need to be doing (and its not coming from some 'rapper'
eyes.gif
(see: Tupac), and it doesnt have to be hidden in a rap song
eyes.gif
(see: Goodie Mob)), and thats big (at least it can be).

.....but to answer your question directly, take a look at the black community. we have been in a state of emergency for quite some time now. thats not normalcircumstances.

*edit*

- i have to put this in here because i know some moron will take what i said the wrong way:

MY COMMENTS ARE NOT ABOUT HIM RECIEVING THE PEACE PRIZE, ONLY.......ONLY ABOUT LOOKING AT HIM AS MORE THAN APRESIDENT.

I can understand that you want to have Obama inspire change for good. We all would like to see him inspire change for good. That is why the Nobel prize wasawarded him. The committee gave him the prize for potential future good works. which is funny.

Barack Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize, and his hometown of Chicago is one of the most troubled, violent, corrupt places in the country. For a littleperspective, consider this: since 2001, 10 soldiers from Chicago have died in Iraq and Afganistan, but over 260 children were murdered in Chicago in that sametime frame (36 this year), according the the Black Star Project.

Really? You think their peace accord would have been lasting?

Are you really incapable of making the connection? Or are you trying to bait me into another pointless argument with you?

Congrats Mr. President.
