Looks like that Hank-Gaither I pulled is going for $100. Not horrible, literally haven't bought a pack of cards in 20 years lol

I'm seeing lots of graded cards sell for a bunch more. I've never had a card graded, what's the turn around and is it worth it? Guessing as long as it comes back with a solid grade it can raise the value up considerably.

Not necessarily for this card, just wondering in general.

Btw, the basketball packs I copped were a wash lol

Psa takes forever, usually 2-3 months in a good. There is also bgs which are the top 2 and the other reliable and popular grade SGC Which is on the come up.

Graded 9 usually is same value if it was raw and non graded maybe slightly a lil more. Anything less you almost lose value and will run less than a non graded card.

Everybody grades a card nowadays to get that 2-3 times more value. Especially rookie cards and special inserts and parallels. Autos/ relics.

only worth it if you have a very valuable card and if there is a low pop of it. Better to send in bulk to get graded for a cheaper price on a good per card. Like I said turnaround can be long especially with Psa.

also good to inspect the cards being sent in once you learn what the third party graders are looking for (e.g., only send in cards you think have a legit shot at 10).

It’s weird seeing other collectors here. Some of us are probably members in the same FB groups and “know each other.” Lol

I injured my foot 6-7 years ago and had to ditch the Js, so I’m rarely on here, but log on every once in a while to check out threads like this.
Here’s a few recent pick ups.

Started collecting again back in 2018. Bought these two Mahomes rookies in 2018. They’re getting graded now.

bruh my psa order I sent before the rona still ain't here :smh:

but I get my stuff back fast from SGC

What box, recent or old should I invest in if I’m after a Kobe auto? Preferably on card but I’ll take a sticker.

Probably best to just buy the card imo raw or slabbed. That’s what I’d do prob. I don’t really open basketball packs though mainly baseball

Yea you’ll end up spending a lot more opening boxes trying to chase a certain card than what you would’ve paid for it. It’s a gamble and it’s not even a guarantee.

always look and buy the card itself that you want.

I have some from the mid 90s - almost all MJ. I also have what is supposed to be a full NBA set from the 80s - got given it about 10 years ago by a guy I know who just buys boxes of stuff. Was clearing out his garage and thought I would like it. Never found the time to go through it.

I have a few sets I like - a complete set of the Rare Air cards and a Space Jam set that I remember sending away for - might even have 2 of those now.

I have some MJ baseball cards that I bought in ‘95. I think they were $1 a pack so I bought a few but never saw them again so I’ve only got half the set - saw them once at a flea market but they wanted something like $20 each which is ridiculous.

^^^the rookie bowman chrome brady??That was a money maker for me when his raw cards were cheap. Acuna cards always appreciated :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:
