Another tipping thread.

Just came back from the gas station.

Went in to grab a drink after pumping my gas. The second guy in front of me is turning in one of those lottery cards. I guess he won some money, so he tipped the cashier $20.

Thoughts?
Wasteful

Eventually when a computer/robot takes his job that wont even be a thing unless some of these fools out here tipping robots.

Wonder how much he won.

I damn sure wouldn't have tipped.

For WHAT?

I was on my phone for the majority of the transaction, just looked up for the tail-end of it because of the cashier's reaction, so I can't really say. If I had to guess, I don't think he won much. Based off of the glimpse I got of his hand and the cashier's reaction (or lack thereof) before the tip, I'd say he won ~$50.

The wild thing is, there was another cashier there and she told the lady that received the tip that he always does that when he wins. He even said goodbye to the second cashier by name when he left.

I understand tipping dealers, but this was just stupid. He looked extra bummy, too.

Oh, it'll happen.

Having done door dash myself, 3 of my customers were short some fries.

Then I just started adding 1 dollar items to my orders at fast food places. Door dash would only decline payment of the price wad 4 dollars over or under what was expected.

**** door dash. Feel blessed everyday I'm not forced to do it.

Now a days i officially have no clue who I should tip. Every place that has the ipad register set up thing asks you for a tip. Quick order Restaurants...coffee shops...like everyone now a days asking for a tip.
The other one i don't get is my dog groomer. Like you charge me $90 for my 50lb small dog. Why am i tipping...like are the groomers independent contractors...are they like hair salons?

I hateeee those iPad setups relative to the tipping feature. Always so awkward. Like, I'm buying ice cream and not trying to tip  . I sign quickly & keep it moving.

Man up. Nothing awkward about it.
0%: No Tip.

Do it once, and get over it and you will be fine forever.

Oh I do it all the time. I'm just saying it's different than signing a check at a restaurant, and you leave the table before the waiter/waitress comes back. This is in the moment, they flip around the iPad and see $0 tip.

 I know what you meant. I was messing with you.

I am sure the reason WHY that was designed is because they figure most folks wouldn't have the balls enough to say NO TIP face to face.

Better ask your employer to pay you more according to weather conditions.

Mother****ers be acting like they doing you a favor for doing their job.

Like **** you about to tip your mailman every day?
I always ask people WHY we aren't tipping out MailMen. I mean we use them on a daily basis, they provide us a VITAL service.

If you are tipping barbers, mechanics, and deliverymen, why not tip your mailmen?

It’s not a tip per say, but I’ve always given my regular mail carrier gifts around the holidays. I get a ton of packages delivered throughout the year. Him going the extra mile to put them somewhere I specified when I’m not there, or to notify me when his route started so I can meet him a few blocks down to get my stuff is extra convenient for me.

ice cream spots, fast food spots, and coffee spots, Places like that which you pay at the register but aren’t served by a waiter that have a tip option pop up when you pay. They can kick rocks. I’m pretty sure most people don’t give any type of tip in those situations. I’m not being served, my stuff isn’t being brought to my table etc.

I am always nervous if I have to pay before I get my food. Even those quick places that ask for tip. Most times I will just give a 1 dollar tip. Especially if i try to modify my order...which is almost all the time.

places where tax is included, so you don't need to worry about tipping since the workers are paid decently :pimp: this happens in 'socialist' countries, yet americans love to complain not about tipping. well if you do not want to tip and you use the excuse of workers not being paid well. then you have to face the fact that capitalism creates this and the american way of life will have to change for this to happen. people want change but are afraid of living out of their daily routine.
