I wish I could get one good punch in on Bill Simmons:

34. Rudy Gay
If you're my best perimeter guy and can't make 3s, then you better be dropping 24-26 a night easy, and he can't do it. He's headed for Iguodala/Deng/Granger territory -- someone who gets paid like a franchise player but isn't one (a recipe for NBA disaster). If I'm a Knicks fan, my Summer of 2010 Worst-Case Scenario is Amar'e and Rudy. That's taking me to a 6-seed every spring.

(You know what's really sad? Every Knicks fan just said, "A 6-seed every spring? I'll take it!")

If Walsh manages to get Tyrus Thomas (who is better than Jordan Hill in every way but jumpshot) and get rid of Jared Jefferies contract, that would be a miracle...getting TMac is a pretty nice bonus too bc who knows, maybe he still has something left in him and something to prove...

Don't think it's going to happen, but I'd be happy if it did...

And i don't understand the Jordan Hill attachment at all, this is just like when people were saying "lets not get rid of Channing Frye for Garnett"...that didn't turn out too well, and Jordan Hill isn't half the player channing frye was, move him while people still remember he's a 1st rd pick

Nate/Duhon/Douglas

Chandler

Tmac/Gallo

Lee

Tyrus

could at least be an interesting team to watch

I bet that once Jordan Hill gets out of NY, he turns into a Trevor Ariza type player within 3 seasons.

Stop putting TT at the 5. its not going to work.

and TT has the worse bball IQ ever. hes talented, but hes as dumb as rocks. why else do you think the bulls want to move a talented guy like him?

Fixed for IQ reasons

Our frontcourt got bigger, but it just got worse defensively.

TT is a good shot blocker imo, but hes not that defensive big we need to block shots.

he's 21years old

he's essentially playing his rookie year right now. totally different league then what he is used to. shown flashes of greatness. one of the best 3 shooters already. calm down

and whoever said gallo doesn't drive to the basket, i don't know what you are watching
thank youuuuuuu

"cmon gimme a break"

im saying its not like we can even fill out one of those spots with afirst rounder since we traded our pick to Utah (we still gettin zekedin another decade SMH.) having one of those roster spots filled out bya lotto pick with potential that you can develop on a cheap rookiecontract > having one of those spots filled out by a random scrub ona one year contract.
i know that... i said *** cause you were talking about how if we got noone next yea wed be gabage and wed have no first rounder, but Utah only has our pick this year, we got ours next year.

btw i thought Melo was 2011??

and i love how when other teams have umored deals they get done in a day or so. Butler to the Mavs, Camby to Potland, etc. NY media %%@@%#+ sucks. When something is rumored as nearly done or even a %%@@%#+ done deal that %+#% either doesnt even %%@@%#+ happen or we have to sweat it out for an entire week + before it does. You cant trust %+#% with us until the new dudes are taking pics with the new unis

Actually he does. He said he said he's only making a trade this year if it makes us better and if it clears cap. I seriously cant wait for Thursday, the more rumors i hear the more i want these trades to happen. I'll be

if harrington stays btw.

I've been a big Hill support and believer, not that he's going to become an all-star, but that given time he can be a solid/productive player.

However the move has to be done. Giving up Hill is the only way you get rid of Jefferies, better Hill than Chandler or Gallo.

Once again, very wary of giving up Hill. I know we're trying to clear space by getting rid of Jefferies but I'm still on the fence about this whole deal. Need to find out what's going on with the picks. So we swap '11 picks, they get our '12 and Donnie is trying to get their first this year and give our second as well. I've heard '11 is unprotected and '12 is protected. I'd rather it be the other way around. Just in case it doesn't work out to our advantage this offseason and we struggle next year. Hopefully Hughes is part of the trade. I'm not sold on TT either. He can rot in Chicago for all I care. I don't know what we do with Al but TT is dumb as this rock wedged at the bottom of my shoe.

I "HOPE" Donnie is holding out on giving hill.

Mike did say our goal was to play our young guys, so i dont see what our point would be in trading buckets is, if we're not giving time to hill?

Like proshares said, TT can kick rocks. maybe he'll help us, but i actually liked Hill's game from what i saw.

he's saying that because that's what you say when you are in his job position.

He can't come out and straight up say yeeeah we don't give a flying **%$. you know it, i know it, just don't come to the garden for the rest of the season cuz we suck.

Exactly, this. No gm will say this year doesnt matter. He has to say that and wants the team to be competive but its all about the cap. If you can find a player who can play solid with an expiring contract great but if the team sucks with expiring contracts it doesnt matter. Or we would have just traded for caron butler. if he really cared.
DAntoni Asked About T-Mac Rumor
Feb 16, 2010 5:22 PM EST

DAntoni_Mike_nyk.jpg
With the second chapter of the 2009-2010 season beginning on Tuesday night and the trade deadline on Thursday, Mike D'Antoni spoke to the media and was asked about the rumored trade that would send Tracy McGrady to New York.

"Hypothetically, whatever's best for the organization, I'm definitely all for it," D'Antoni said in response to a question about losing a young asset in return for greater cap space this summer.

Jordan Hill reportedly may be included in the deal in order to shed the contract of Jared Jeffries.

"Number one is the development of Wilson and Gallo," D'Antoni said about the need to give the Knicks' young players a greater role over the remainder of the season.

Absent from D'Antoni's statement was any mention of Hill, which could either be an indication of the likelihood of the Knicks' lottery pick remaining with the team or simply a reflection of the fact that the rookie has not been a regular part of the coach's rotation to date.

yes thank you.

let hill go develop somewhere else cause these bums dont know how to.

and i hope he !**%+ on us next few years. #!$#+%* !**%+ on us
Rockets Think They Have Better T-Mac Offers Than New York's
McGrady_Tracy_hou.jpg
The Knicks and Rockets have the framework of a Tracy McGrady trade that would also involve Jared Jeffries, Jordan Hill and Al Harrington.

However, sources with knowledge of the talk say the Rockets have received multiple offers for McGrady that they have deemed better than the one from New York.

A source said that Jeffries, who is owed $6.9 million next season with a $2 million trade kicker, is a sticking point for the Rockets.

who didn't see that coming. probably used us to get better deals.

it's all gonna come down to the wire. we will see

Knew this was gonna happen in the back of my head

being a Knicks fan really sucks sometimes Houston was just playing with our emotions guys

if walsh really wants to be aggressive in clearing capspace, i say we offer the same package to the lakers for garbage and their 2010 first rounder.

hill+jeffries

for

Morrison
Powell
Mbenga

+ lakers 2010 first rounder

works on trade machine and if the prime objective is to dump jeffries then eff it we should just do this.

at this point i dont think Hill is the issue, i think its the ockets holding out on the Knicks with hopes of scooping that 2012 1st rounder. Greedy mother ##$#***, you are already getting a rookie top 10 pick for a guy who is long term but making ONLY 6 mil or so and he can actually be productive. Taking him ios NOT worth Hill AND another 1st rounder. Its not like we are trying to throw Curry on them and its not like they are giving us anyone who gets key minutes for them.
