And what guarantee do you have that the Bulls are any better?

No one knows how Rose is going to be, The Bulls have NO offense and Melo will probably have to carry the load again. You guys act like the Bulls are the second coming of the 2004 Pistons before Sheed went to the team.

**** out of here with your rebuttal and stupid looking avy.

Hmm let's see buddy....they made it to the second round of the playoffs this past year without their 25 year old former MVP and Melo. They also may be bringing over one of the best players in all of Europe and the best shooter in the draft this year. Oh, and they have one of the best coaches in all of basketball on their side.

Knicks, who didn't make the playoffs last year under a coach who had been to the playoffs his last like 6 years, will go into the season with the same roster besides Calderon, Dalembert and a couple second round rookies along with a rookie head coach. Man that just sounds spectacular.

"When OKC acquired Thabo on Feb. 19, 2009, they were 13-41. They went 281-109 after. Not the most important, but a big part of the turnaround"
someone who didn't watch basketball would read this and think, "This Thabo guy must be damned good.'' safe to say we all watch bball here. that stat means nothing

"Attitude reflect leadership" Knicks keep Melo, Phil will put some dope pieces in place. It's not a very hard City to recruit in if youre Phil. He's no Joe Dumar man.

None of it matters if Melo doesn't stay. So for the sake of having better things to discuss, I will move on, and revisit this when Melo makes a decision
actually that roster was decent at best... like you said front office.... still hasnt changed, and you mentioned coaching...lol you do realize they have a unproven coach straight from the court. And the best free agents of next yr are marc gasol, rondo, rubio, deandre jordan, milsap, and kenneth faried... all good/great players, but not franchise changers in the sense will move them from no playoffs to a chip team... And thats if they could get any of these guys.

And next yr draft isnt gonna be strong, and the knicks will do just enough to not get a good draft pick or a draft pick at all. They have contracts of players ppl dont want ie... amare, jr etc....

Not to mention what its been like 50 yrs since they one a chip, and what maybe 25 yrs or so since they had a team that was even in the contentions of a chip... I just dont realistically see ll of these changing in a yr or two. Will/can they get better sure, playoff team....probably, but championship team nah...

and dont forget their defensive anchor in chandler

I dont get Lebron though. We all know he wont destroy his legacy and become a journey man so hes staying in Miami. But no matter how you add it up, him Wade and Bosh leaves no roster flexibility. And prolonging the "decision" means losing out on FA's like Lowry. Would the Heat even have money for Lowry after maxing out Bron and the other 2 taking slight realistic pay cuts? Probably not right?

So its either one of the big 3 is gone or hes gonna have to continue working extremely hard to make up for lack of help.

I think Pau Gasol comes to the Heat and replaces Bosh.

Terrible move by the Heat if this is the case. Pau has injury issues as well as Wade, it would be Lebron vs 5 all over again.

I think Chi offers Pau more than NY and OKC. I don't see Miami offering enough to Pau.

Toronto is on the cusp of being next level..they have made great moves. T Ross needs to step up next season as the #3 option though. He's so hot and cold.

If the raps can pull an elite PF or something, boom.

Let's end this Melo talk with two questions:

1. What team is better:

    Melo-less Knicks or Melo-less Bulls

2. Without factoring free agents (who might not even hit the market), who has a brighter 5 year future:

    Knicks or Bulls

Melo here wasn't happening, but Dirk signing his deal has/had no bearing on that whatsoever.

Is that really a question?
