I just saw on Twitter that Bulls' team rules won't allow players to wear headbands. Is this true?

No way Melo's playing without a headband :lol

its been like that for a very long time

but if Melo signs they will bend the rule for him ;)

not that many players are living pay check to pay check

they will be fine for a few months, not a big deal.

if you dont have any savings then you need to slap yourself for making a few mill a year and have nothing to show for it.

a strike will happen. you think these dudes dont want more money? LULZ

PLENTY of players living check by check, well documented by the players themselves. Not sure why you act like that's so far fetched

The Bulls let Rip ******* Hamilton wear a headband.

I'm pretty sure Melo would be allowed to wear 5 headbands if he wants.

Man yall really got to stop calling a strike and a lockout the same thing.

What that tweet referred to is totally different from the players not wanting to come to work.
a strike is the players refusal to come to work ie due to unfair wages work conditions etc.... a lockout is the employer that being the nba refusal to allow players access ie cant play, cant train etc... in order to force their hand to accept their demands and/or current wages/work conditions...

Paycheck to paycheck... NO F'ing Way! Heck Even Robert Swift lived 2 years after the league on his NBA money. If a player can't go a few months without being paid, they secretly have to have something going on behind the scenes.

SN: Kobe ain't loaning nobody no dang money!

kobe would be cruising by throwing change at them cats... on some go get a job brokey

exactly, you are telling me grown men, athletes who makes millions and even the lower tier players making 500k-1mill are blowing through money and can go 4-5 months without a paycheck

if so, i dont even feel bad. i hope the strike goes on for a year then just out of spite

Why is so hard for people to believe that alot of NBA players live paycheck to paycheck. Having a ton of money doesn't cure bad money management.

The same way a "regular" person can blow a 2000 dollar paycheck on ********....a pro athlete can blow whatever they make on ********.

I remember Andray Blatche couldn't pay his rent during his rookie season and was sleeping at the Verizon Center before Gilbert Arenas helped him out.

Remember Patrick Ewing's quote during the 90s lockout.
Sure, we make a lot of money, but we spend a lot, too”

I honestly dont doubt it, a bunch of young dudes coming into millions with the mentality that theyre going to continue to make millions, I'm sure that theyre overspending like crazy. When situations like Kawhi Leonard who drives a chevy still are atypical then you know what the mindset of the majority of players are. Spend spend spend. Most of the league would not last a few months with no paychecks in my opinion.

Matt Bonner still pushes a white 05 Grand Prix and argues with managers over accepting his Subway coupons

:rollin :rollin

Big Ben Wallets was the first person to break the rule, and Rip after that.
I'm sure the FO will have hand made silk headbands for Melo if he signs.

Bruh.

You have to be trolling if you don't think athletes are brook or living pay check to pay check.

You have to be.

they deserve it? am i supposed to feel bad?

players will strike, quote me on it

But look what you said. Rookie season and Andray Blatche. His money wasn't even a sure thing. He was a second rounder. That's plausible. But if said that he was now, it would be BS. To me rookie and borderline D-League/NBA roster players are outliers.

Only on NT, do people think that the vast majority of athletes are financially responsible :lol :lol

Who the **** is talkin about the strike, I simply said they were broke and you over here talking about you can't believe it or some other non sense.

i believe it but you guys are making it seem like its 80% of the league :lol

Why will they strike when they will be getting paid more?

getting paid more from what? the current CBA is for 10 years... whos getting majority of the money from it... the owners.

exactly most these dudes be on that same mentality rappers be on...(hell most are cut from the same cloth, from the same areas etc...same upbringing)

You got guys hell even on draft day, and when ask whats the first thing you gonna do/did when you get to the nba... Oh i bought me all my favorite cars/car a big fancy fat house for me and one for my momma. And this is all before they even been to the team facility and met the players etc...

Then when you add that most get insta credit...pretty much cards with no limit, dudes be maxing out cards...pushing the limits on black cards before the beginning of their first season. Then its a few loans here and there to family members, a couple of uneducated/unfounded on a whim no researched involved investments and business start ups.

Tricking chicks trying to show off your new money that you havent received yet for your hometown/friends etc... Next thing you know you already well behind the 8ball before receiving your first nba check. Then dont mess around and not make the cut, get injured etc... Aint like these debts just magically wipe away.

Most nba players dont make it past 4/5 yrs and only make around 20 mil.... Now when you take into account the aforementioned.... it is easy to see why many players end up broke, in debt
