Furkan Aldemir apparently may be coming over next year even though he just signed a new three year deal in Turkey. Most of you don't know who the hell that is cause you don't watch the Turkish basketball league but he's considered Omer Asik with better offense.

Sixers front court gonna be stacked with him, Embiid and Noel if everything works out.

The truly startling part of all of this is how it’s become viewed as an admirable thing for NBA players to take less. Does this happen in any other profession? In any other sport? No one expects Leo Messi or Justin Verlander to take less, yet LeBron and Carmelo Anthony are supposed to do what’s best for the team — as if keeping owners from having to pay more is a moral imperative. It’s a neat turn by the owners themselves, who having fleeced the players once in bargaining sessions are able to do so again every summer by making luxury tax payments the players’ problem.
Woj said it yesterday also, there is no more important athlete aside from the QB than the superstar basketball player, yet they go out of their way to make themselves underpaid.

I can also see the opposite side of it where these are the players that make a lot of money from non basketball ventures as one may call it. Its a hard one to call, but in this case I am a proponent of LeBron taking the max, and no its not to tie up Miamis cap, its because the dude deserves it.

I don't even care anymore bruh. I'm sick of the people who hate their life, and come in here with that trash every day of my life. So until all of you are tired of derailing this thread talking about my city in every got damn post, I'm going to be Mr Save-A-Cleveland each and every time.

Its sickening that I cna't come in here and talk regular sports talk without having to read **** about my city each and every time.

Until some of you come here, take pics and prove that you've come to my city and prove that it sucks and that it is trash, I'll be right here making you feel horrible about your life.

no disrespect to you AT, but you gotta learn how to disregard all the city slander. im from Oakland, and im pretyy sure i could spend entire days having to defend this city in various forums but that's completely pointless.

people talk **** about oakland all the time, not my job to inform them of how wrong they are, nor should i allow someone's ignorance be so offending to me.

yea cause lionel messi and verlander undergo the same amount of criticism and scrutiny as nba superstars.   just more slurpage.

lebron should be the highest paid player no doubt but unless he learns how to constantly stay aggressive he aint winning **** without help

sixers and stacked should never be in the same sentence unless you're referring to D league talents.

BREAKING: @TheNBPA in letter advises free agents to take paychecks over 18 months as lockout protection after 16-17 season

We called this the day the lockout ended in 2012. The players got screwed, and it's coming back in just a couple years. :{

[Statis] David Stern rules!!!!! [Statis]

When I'm wrong say I'm wrong.

Players are devaluing themselves by taking less to win.
Its partly our fault as fans. Over emphasis on winning. I've enjoyed every Spurs season regardless of whether they won the chip or not, the first season where I've actually had a championship or bust mentality was this one. Its like that every single year for LeBron and players of his caliber, but its not like I'm speaking new information or anything.

2017 Lockout is going to last until February

Been saying that since day one, I'm sure the owners sitting back loving it because the media is doing there dirty work for them :{

Nahhh. Winning has to do with the ego of the players. The best and most profitable player on/off the court took less money to win (among his other teammates Wade and Bosh). We heard that Wade got into a verbal altercation with Stern over the divide, and then he goes ahead and takes less money? No other players in sports will do what they did.

but but but people were calling me an idiot 30 pages ago when i said 2017 we are getting a strike/lockout

but yall keep letting trolls take over this thread and attack me. i called it months ago and said it again a few days ago.

its gonna be a long fight because players got screwed

This all gets resolved if the NBA converts to a hard cap.

But a majority of the players will not want that.

i agreed although with the current mindstate of players/social media society i dont see them really sticking to their guns and eventually will fold and overall the nba will come out on top. The players and the league in general have the proverbial upper hand and essentially could push the envelope and get pretty much anything they want...

Thing is they clamor for the fame and what not the limelight that eventually it will wear on them and they will tuck tails and pretty much give in to the owners etc... and not receive nearly what they could.

If Melo stayed in NY
If Melo decided on Chi

Both teams would be even chances on advancement in the Playoffs. He should stay in NY, and I think he will. I also think they do work this season with or without him.
heck no even without rose, as been proven the bulls are a 5th or so seed in the playoffs...... ny lost chandler really have no cap space, cant really make any deals.. and have a roster worse then last yrs yet somehow they will be even with the bulls if melo stays....lol

Hell other teams are growing making moves becoming better yet somehow knicks with a roster worse then last years will leap to a 4th/5th seed in the east... with a rose coming back.... gotta be a knick fan or something.

No Knick fan. I am just a strong strong believer in positive change. I've seen it time and time again. +the positive involves Phil.
Two mo points (and Fish) sometimes ATTITUde is everything mate. But for real, I could name 10 situations easy in the NBA where a positive change and outlook have dope results. Look at the Linsanity run. Look what Denver did with the same lineup after Melo left. Look what they did after Karl left, look look look. A new outlook on life should never be under estimated in my book, it's powerful.

I don't think there will be a lockout once the TV deal kicks in.

I've often thought about this, but then what happens to the mid tier players? With a hard cap, I would assume the max contract goes away, then we're left with a situation where star players are getting like 40 mill per year (what I'd expect LeBron to get with a hard cap of 63 mill TBH) what happens to all the mid to low tier guys? Theyre going to get shafted.

i hear ya but in reference to what you said 1. the lin run was just that a run end of the day it didnt change the overall landscape/results of the knicks.. neither has it improved the rockets... Denver wasnt nowhere in the position the knicks are currently in, plus they gained some good/great pieces not to mention had a good coach once melo left.

Melo staying isnt gonna add new pieces...they lost their defensive anchor, and really the only defensive minded player they had, they dont have a great/established coach.... nor cap/viable pieces to improve the team either.

Cant really compare a playoff team that gained valuable assets, had cap, a proven gm and a proven coach....to a non playoff team with no viable assets, no cap, a 1st time gm and a first time head coach... lost their def anchor, has an aging on the decline pf.

Could the knicks improve sure... pretty much have nowhere to go but up, but to say they can or would be on pair with the bulls with drose coming back, let alone if they add melo to the mix is just crazy talk... no way i could see the bulls with drose and melo dropping to a lower seed/no playoff appearance and the knicks with/without melo improving to a 4th/5th seed even in the weak eastern conference.
