I'd welcome Steve Blake. He also went to high school with Haslem maybe he can lure him over.

This all gets resolved if the NBA converts to a hard cap.

But a majority of the players will not want that.

Raise cap + eliminate "max contracts"

BREAKING: @TheNBPA in letter advises free agents to take paychecks over 18 months as lockout protection after 16-17 season

We called this the day the lockout ended in 2012. The players got screwed, and it's coming back in just a couple years. :{

[Statis] David Stern rules!!!!! [Statis]

When I'm wrong say I'm wrong.

I'm not following, what you referring to?

I don't think there will be a lockout once the TV deal kicks in.

Wouldn't the new tv deal fuel the players strike against the owners, once they see how much the owners get? If I'm not mistaken, the current cba was to convince us the owners were losing money

also: What I tell you about Kyrie.

No one EVER turns down the max restricted extension.

EVER. :lol

He's already said he will be very hands on with the team. Practices and everything. Fisher is his puppet.
watching practice in a polo and khakis and observing fisher isnt the same as being on the sidelines 82 games... having the know-how and experience to deal with in game changes situations. That is gonna take time... and a training camp, few practices during the season (since he isnt traveling with the team) isnt gonna make some huge difference,

not to mention even if phil were to hypothetically coach, we havent even seen him be a success without top tier hof caliber players...to which the knicks dont have with the exception of melo (and even thats up for debate, especially seeing as it isnt a lock he will stay)

They had to max out kyrie. Who else is coming to Cleveland.

a pg as ur best player will lead you nowhere. So Wiggins better turn out to be the man.

I've often thought about this, but then what happens to the mid tier players? With a hard cap, I would assume the max contract goes away, then we're left with a situation where star players are getting like 40 mill per year (what I'd expect LeBron to get with a hard cap of 63 mill TBH) what happens to all the mid to low tier guys? Theyre going to get shafted.
Yes, this is why the majority of the players would not want a hard cap. :lol

lol it would be a good strategy for the owners to use.... then the players instead of standing up and uniting against the league they would be bickering/fighting amongst each other.... on some divide and conquer..

NBA players are too *****. They need to strike and not back down in 2017 .
Too many players are essentially living paycheck to paycheck for this to happen.

reminds me of la and the whole dwight stay campaign

Dudes giving Phil way too much credit already, he's not the coach.

He's already said he will be very hands on with the team. Practices and everything. Fisher is his puppet.

Have we seen Phil in this position before? That's what I was referring too, lets see what happens first before we automatically assume its going to work.

players are living paycheck to paycheck

sadly alot them do.... talking bout living welllllllllllllllllllll beyond their means.... They not hand to foot ie like your typical person etc.... but alot of them see 5mil=20mil and spend and live their lives according to this.

Wouldn't Carmelo wear 15 if he went to Chicago?

They gonna do this in Houston, Dallas and LA? I don't think Carmelo is leaving NY, just think he wants to be catered to and appreciated :lol

Was thinking the same thing...
It was mentioned many times during the last lockout as a reason why the players association couldnt allow it to go on for that long.

Jerry Stackhouse even flat out said that most players are living paycheck to paycheck

Fans perception of NBA stars, they are all young, arrogant, spoiled millionaires who love to flash their millions. However, the NBA lockout is damaging many of the players’ livelihoods on a daily basis. According to Jerry Stackhouse, “many players live paycheck to paycheck.” If this is the case –after just one month into the lockout– most players are feeling the pinch, but the five players who stand to lose the most money if the lockout continues are Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Rashard Lewis and Gilbert Arenas.

Man yall really got to stop calling a strike and a lockout the same thing.

What that tweet referred to is totally different from the players not wanting to come to work.

not that many players are living pay check to pay check

they will be fine for a few months, not a big deal.

if you dont have any savings then you need to slap yourself for making a few mill a year and have nothing to show for it.

a strike will happen. you think these dudes dont want more money? LULZ

I just saw on Twitter that Bulls' team rules won't allow players to wear headbands. Is this true?

No way Melo's playing without a headband :lol
