If you look at C.C's stats, they indicate he is struggling, but not too far out of line with his normal performance.
He's not giving up more walks than normal, similar amount of K/9. SO/BB is comparable.
He gives up about 1.2 more hits / 9 , .7 more HR / 9. 1.27 higher ERA than normal
It all has to do with velocity of the fastball, IMO.
If the velocity of the fastball was back up to 94-95. It makes his offspeed and breaking stuff that much more difficult to hit, and would probably decrease the amount of hits, and ERA to where it should be.. Also his command of the fastball hasn't been good lately.. He's trying to hit the corners with the Fastball and it's tailing back into the middle of the zone.
The W-L record is 9-10, that's really bad for a guy like C.C. But that's deceiving , he's also getting almost 2 less runs in Run Support than previous years..
He need to find the command of his fastball
