2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

Based off of his tweets and Coach Shafer's comments, it looks like our former 4* WR recruit KJ Williams is probably unlikely to suit up at SU once he finishes his prep school duties. Coach wants to move on with the receivers we have and wishes him the best.

Rumor that LSU freshman DT Trey Lealaimatafao may be at risk of having his arm amputated after punching through a window at LSU football facilities... What the hell?!
Was mad at his girlfriend

WOW

reminds of the NT dude who recently did this.....dude had so many stitches and his arm looked pieced together

He was immediately taken to an area hospital and is being treated for the injury, Bonnette said. Bonnette said there was no danger of amputation as previously reported. One source said Lealaimatafao may have completely severed his bicep and he faces a lengthy recovery
that's good news as far as amputation is concerned ...

Texas DT Bryce English commits to UCLA.
UCLA has been recruiting better than this... :{ The 5'10 320 LB unathletic DT? Geez.

I've been reading mixed responses about the commit. I trust the evaluation of UCLA coaches.

There's a reason he had ASU, Texas, Wisconsin and Arkansas offers.

He was committed to UT at one point, got dropped.

Oregon can absolutely win the title this year.

Former Baylor commitment Louis Brown is Strong's 12th commitment in the 2014 class. He also held offers from OU, Notre Dame, Oregon and Oklahoma State. Brown is rated a three star on a Rivals Texas 100 that looks increasingly like it was crafted by chimps randomly pulling names from a hat after the Top 20 players while ESPN and 24-7 both consider him a solid four star. Indeed, 24-7 has Brown rated as the #15 prospect in the entire state.

Texas hasn't recruited well at DT in like 3 years and Charlie dropped English the second he got to campus and never looked back. The kid seriously looks like the StayPuft monster.

Louis Brown is a crazy athlete. No idea where he ends up playing though. Not real natural anywhere on the field and being a 1A Texas kid means he's getting zero coaching.

FORT WORTH — TCU defensive end Devonte Fields is under investigation by police after his ex-girlfriend accused him of pointing a gun at her, threatening” I should blast you!” then punching her in the head at a Fort Worth home Sunday.

Fields had allegedly left the scene before officers’ arrival, according to a Fort Worth police report.

“Devonte Fields has been listed as a suspect on a domestic disturbance in Fort Worth,” confirmed Sgt. Raymond Bush, a police spokesman. “He has not been arrested.”

Fields, who only played three games last year because of injury, has been selected as the preseason defensive MVP of the Big 12. He is also on the watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which is presented annually to the nation's top defensive player, and the Walter Camp Award, presented to the nation's best overall player.

Police had been called to a domestic disturbance about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 2700 block of Lubbock Avenue in Fort Worth.

There, 20-year-old Haley Brown told officers that Fields had apparently been standing outside the bedroom window listening to her talk to a mutual male friend. Brown told police Fields then punched out the window of their friend’s bedroom from the outside and began yelling at her.

“Haley stated that she thought Devonte was holding a gun in one of his hands and stated that he pointed it at her,” the report states.

“I should blast you!” he yelled at Haley, according to the report.

The report states Fields then came to the home’s front door and was let inside by their mutual friend’s roommate.

“Haley stated that Devonte continued to yell at her and punched her in the face one time with a closed fist,” the report states

Officers observed Haley’s right cheek to be swollen with a small cut under her eye. She refused to be taken to the hospital for further evaluation and told officers she did not want to pursue charges against Fields.

Police, however, told her that a report and family violence packet must be completed.

Haley told police she had dated Fields, a former standout player at Arlington Martin High School, for two years but that the couple had broken up on June 1.
