2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

So with all the studs A&M is stockpiling at QB and WR ... what happens to Kyle Allen when Murray gets there (and the 4 guys who came in last year that aren't going to see any burn)?

It feels like all the Allen excitement has cooled drastically.

Allen is going to win the job this year and if he plays well he has nothing to worry about...

Hill loses the job and he's gonna transfer though... Going to be a tough sell for a 2016 kid in Texas asking them to come sit behind Allen and Murray for however long. Tough situation for depth but damn you've got two mega-studs.

Receiver depth is nasty. RSJ, Speedy, Ihenacho, Malcome Kennedy, Quiv... Cam Clear is apparently more involved this year. The '15 class is already loaded with pass catchers and they're still running out front for Christian Kirk... Nasty.

Even an average defense and they're gonna be dangerous. But Mark Snyder sucks.

They"re banking on Allen to be a 3 & done so Murray can have 3 to play 3?

My guess is they'd like Allen to win the job now, be able to redshirt Kyler, and then have Kyler sit a year behind Kyle before having the job his RS-Soph year.

But you can't redshirt Kyler unless Kenny Hill decides to spend I his career behind Allen or you bring in a JUCO who is willing to be a backup, neither of which is likely.

Tough situation.

Recruiting. Hopefully it shows up on the field.

Lot of these lineman want to block for Rosen.

From the numbers I've been reading the aim is 20, hard to say at this point before having medical retirements and other tools at the staff's disposal. Plus if someone big wants to commit they'll always find room for that.

Two Texas football players each received a meal paid for by an agent and possibly jeopardized their NCAA eligibility, according to documents obtained by the American-Statesman through an open records request.

Texas reported the incident to the NCAA on June 6, though it wasn’t clear when the violations occurred. Accepting a free meal from an agent violates the NCAA’s rules regarding amateurism, as the meal is considered compensation for an athlete’s talents.

The names of the players weren’t disclosed in the documents.

University spokesman Nick Voinis told the Statesman on Monday that the case was “being processed through the NCAA through regular procedures.” He declined to answer questions.
