He was surprisingly restrained...

what exactly warrants a pass these days to yall? why is it rings for some people but conference finals for others? or playoff performances vs awards for others.

should we slander Joe Johnson the same way we slander Blake this year even though they statistically played pretty damn well in the playoffs? does Deron Williams deserve more slander than CP3 because of his massive falloff? Or because he made the WCF ONCE is he above slander?

CP3 could not guard Westbrook, the Clippers could not match up with OKC. It's nothing more than that. Doesn't make him overrated, it was just a bad matchup.

I do agree that basketball is a game of match ups and it really shows during the playoffs, because of a 7 game series. But these two teams are more closely matched up than others would like to believe. Had CP3 not messed up game 5 and just taken the foul, they would've been playing a game 7 now. A lot of the games came down to the wire and the Clippers seemed to be on the short end of the stick when it mattered most. OKC happened to be fortunate things worked out for them.

The Clippers could've easily been the ones playing San Antonio in the WCF next week.

People's argument to Tony Parker being the best PG is the system and how Pop had randoms step into the system and continue to just cut down teams.

Mostly notably we saw Patty Mills do it when TP went out.

I don't really get what you mean by that. Are you saying Patty Mills = Tony Parker?

Because i'm pretty sure if Patty Mills played for the Spurs starting lineup full-time, the team would have an entirely different complexion. Patty Mills is more of a shooter who spots up and comes off screens. Tony Parker does the same, but he also attacks the paint often and breaks down defenses.

people already know JJ and deron are nothing special, no one is calling them the best pg since magic or throwing random stats around to overrate them

as for blake, steve blake is immune to slander. sorry but that just is the way it is

people say this every year, at the start of the season people talk about how cp3 is super duper and how his numbers are historical. then he gets bounced the playoffs and its just a matchup problem, and the other team had the two best players. if he is losing in the playoffs every year because of matchup problems than he isnt that good, you cant be the best pg in the game and have matchup problems with other pgs in the playoffs every year

but hey, advanced stats

If only Joe Johnson was on my TV every 20 minutes in a Kia commercial...

Oh, wait, no one gives a **** about Joe Johnson.

Chris Paul is not a winner. He's not even Jim Kelly status -- at least Jim Kelly made the Super Bowl. Chris Paul is Andy Dalton.

so endorsements and commercials is what shapes your opinion on a player. not their performance on the court? if Chris had no commercials and lost would this make him above being slandered?

Indy is looking scary though...if Wade ain't healthy come playoff time Heat will be getting eliminated!

$25 says that if Indy and Miami play in the post season, Miami wins in 6 or less...let me know.

Yeah I'll put my money up knowing Wade is hurt lol yeah I'm down

@FlyerThanDelta

I'll give you a chance to back out now if you want.

Lol I think it's clear who is winning the chip already any bball Gawd in they right mind wouldn't pick Indy after these last few rds they've been playing. I will say this though I got y'all winning it all since the East was a cake walk and Wade ain't been limping but the only team I can see killing the Heats dreams is Coach Pop, funny thing is Okc is the Spurs Kryptonite they not even getting past OKc so pretty much the chip waiting in y'all laps 8)

Definitely not a Heat fan :lol I'll take this as you're backing out though.

people hate on Blake and Chris because they get alot of shine IMO

it was the same thing with Bron

I'm sure people prolly *****ed and moaned about Jordan before the rings started rolling in

I remember MJ getting a lot of heat for not winning and losing to Boston and Detroit all those years. The difference with MJ was that you knew he was on his way to destroying the league when he was ready to do it. Guys like CP3--you never can be too sure.

It also helped MJ to have Scottie :lol

yup, that's the reason why I don't claim players as "top ____" . prove yourself in the playoffs by letting it all hang out, I can't slander someone who showed up and balled out SIMPLY because they didn't advance/win. I just give it up to the better team

It's because Tony Parker doesn't rule the 'advanced statsheets.' I'm sure someone will come in here with Clutch 2PT% indexing or some crap to defend CP0.

Tony just WINS. :hat

Been saying this for weeks. Who cares about + - and all those number if they ultimately result in losses. Winning is the most important stat.

depends on who it is, if its an up and coming player that loses early in the playoffs maybe they will get better. if its a guy that gets hyped up year after year but never does anything in the playoffs then that is 100% slander worthy.

there is a reason OKC was a better team, they had the two best players. people were talking all year about how great cp3 is and he cant even be the 2nd best player in a playoff series? i honestly never expected him to actually throw a game but the fact that he is a major reason his team lost makes everything that much better.
