mike dantoni is not a bad coach

If that's the case then neither is Mike Brown. Hell at least Brown can say he's coached a team to the Finals, regardless of how he got there .... can't say the same for D'antoni.
dantoni is doing more with way less than what brad stephens has but everyone is calling him one of the best young coaches in the nba

any NTer could coach a team better than mike brown, hes a disgrace to basketball. i wouldnt even trust him as a ball boy

:eek A guy with over 300 wins, about 50 playoff wins, NBA finals appearance, and NEVER missed the playoffs (until this year) in his 9 years as a head coach is a disgrace to basketball? I've heard it all.

I understand you don't like him, that's fine, but you're making it sound like D'Antoni is a superior option when that isn't the case at all.

Dunk Contest field has some potential. and they are doing it different this year.  It is East vs West, and the first round is like a free for all jam session type of thing

how do people still think mike brown deserves a coaching job in the NBA?

hes a defensive coach that cant coach defense, so in other words, useless

You guys have an offensive coach that only knows how to coach offense, what's the difference? He hasn't done anything else in this league besides put up points.

Cause apparently he willed Lebron to over 300 regular season victories and 50 playoff wins :rolleyes

Did I say that? I'm just stating facts. Never did I say "he willed Lebron to over 300 regular season victories and 50 playoff wins" :{

Lebron could've led any of these NT couch coaches to 300 wins or 50 playoff victories.

You bring it up as some point of argument to credit him with.

He does deserve just as much credit because those were pretty good defensive teams regardless of what LeBron did on the offensive end. Those teams brought into Brown's defensive scheme.

My original point on this topic was the Lakers didn't give dude a chance to see if he could pull that team together last year. Firing a guy 5 games in makes no sense then turn around and hire a guy who isn't that much better than Brown was comical. If you knew Brown wasn't the right fit, fire him prior to the season is all I was trying to say.

I was gonna say, I'm pretty sure that defense was top 10 (top 3 a couple times) partly because of Brown's methods.

he had a chance the year before that and he didnt do anything, every chance he gets mike brown continues to prove that hes a trash coach

the only memory people have of him from his lebron days is a team huddled around the assistant coach while mike brown is walking around looking worried and confused

That was incredibly bad management by the front office. If you fire the guy FIVE games into the year, you're clearly not committed to him so it made no sense to waste valuable training camp time when you could've gotten had your preferred coach in there from day 1 installing his system.

Along with the injuries, that was one reason why they got off to such a slow start. They spent a whole training camp learning Brown's system, struggle with it initially, then he gets fired & they have learn a new offense all while they're supposed to contending for a title. :{

Tony Parker (low back tightness) and Tim Duncan (rest) will not play in tonight's #Spurs at #Nets game

did tnt do something to pop? is it sager?
Pop doing his usual troll job on TNT Thursdays....Barkley will comment on this again tonight.
they really need the rest though. As a Spurs fan I am in pops corner for this as should be all fans of the team.
Really ain't mad at Pop either.

Duncan played a ton of minutes last night and you have to be cautious with a back injury in regards to Parker.

It's just that it seems that TNT's games this year have been more miss than hit.

Lebron James thinks he should be defensive player of the year, because he guards all position

brown rode lebron to the finals

More than that, the east was a joke. None of those teams would have been an 8th in the west
The Pistons were a top 10 team on both ends of the floor. They'd easily make the playoffs in the west.
They would have been a 6-8th seed at best in the Western conference, that Pistons team was basically on their last legs at that point. And Cleveland cakewalked to the ECF by facing two injury riddled teams.

That was easily the weakest year for the Eastern conference in recent history, and that's saying something.
