Not even close? From 99 to 03' ish A.I. was a reluctant face of the NBA and if he wasn't he was damn sure close to that.

To a small segment of fans, maybe. To most people, especially casual fans, the Lakers defined those years.

i can agree with this, from 04-2011 there was no undisputed best player in the league

imo during that period the best overall player in terms of consistent greatness every year is kobe

i wouldnt mind if you thought it was duncan

to say it was iverson or tmac shows that you know nothing about basketball

I don't think anyone every said that during that timespan A.I. or T-Mac was the best player though

Both players best years individually were better than Kobe's however.

I think from 04 to 11, from that timespan it's been Lebron. If someone said Duncan though I wouldn't be opposed to that.

Since this superbowl is over and the NBA is dead today, another debate for you guys...

When will Chris Paul stop getting a pass?

The Lakers? Sure they dominated that time period.

But individually? As far as basketball players are concerned? Allen was the most polarizing player in the league during that time arguably.

Winning rings =/= face of the league

mike vick had a stint where he was the face of the league but he was never a top 5 qb

Ok i'll agree to that. I dont think Nash deserved to win it twice.

Another one of the things I have a problem with. I personally think Steve Nash deserved both of those league MVP's the years he won it. People actually try to say Kobe deserved it during those years :{

tmac is debatable, kobes top 3 years > iversons best year PER wise. there are other ways to determine how to rank individual years but iverson has never had a year that is clear cut better than kobe's best.

how was lebron better than kobe from 04-10?

if we are talking about polarizing then kobe is by far the greatest player in NT history

being polarizing has nothing to do with basketball though, iverson has never been the clear cut best player in the league either

Iverson hasn't ever been the clear cut best player but many people thought he was better than Kobe during a time and vice versa. Iverson definitely had stints though were he was more popular/polarizing than Kobe during the 2000's.

people "hate" on scorers because things like winning an mvp with ricky rubio shooting numbers happen.

nba only had a couple eras, where one guy was the undisputed best player for more than 3 seasons in a row.

Russel
Chamberlain
Kareem
Bird
Magic
Michael
Shaq
Lebron

thats it, no kobe era exists.

Russell and Chamberlain shared their era

Kareem really shared his era with Dr.J

Bird and Magic really didn't have their own individual era either

If you say Lebron's era started in 2008, it was definitely shared with Kobe til like 2011 and he may be about to share it with KD now

Uhh... yes? Do they give out multiple MVP awards per season and no one told me?
So if Lebron wins the MVP this year that means KD wasn't worthy. Oh Ok

Read what I said. There are a few players year in and year out that are 'worthy' of the MVP
Iverson's season wasn't even close to what KD and LeBron are doing right now, and when someone was leaps and bounds better like Shaq was then no he wasn't worthy.

My point wasn't to compare A.I.'s season to KD and Lebron. All I was saying was that there are definitely times when a player wins the MVP and there are other players who are worthy of the MVP.

Any way you wanna cut it, 31 a game on the best team in the east is MVP worthy.

if melo is on a trash team and he cant get past the first round

and cp3 is on a trash team and cant get past the first round

why does melo get more "hate"?
