2013-2014 NBA Season Thread - Congrats to the Spurs, DBD is still a buster

Congrats to the Spurs, well oiled machine I can't hate on that display of basketball. BUT this Finals was such a disappointment, Heat faced nothing in the East that could have prepared them for that style of play

Wade HAS to take a massive paycut, he's toast. Bron should demand it or walk

**** wade

props to lebron, though. as much as we try to crucify him, dude tried to put the team on his back but no matter what he did, his team wasn't coming through for him.

congrats to the spurs. absolutely beautiful basketball. wish more teams played this way.

Yo next season is wide open. Unless Miami get or some other miracle, the east will be trash. OKC gon OKC. The Clippers may have a chamce. I honestly don't know who's the favorite.

Come on bro. the 8th team in the West gave the Spurs more problems than the Heat are

The difference in the conferences is not overstated.  East is a ******* joke.

Going by that logic, the Mavs were better than every other team the Spurs faced in the West playoffs too. You can just look at the records.

Miami crushed West teams in the regular season - San Antonio just peaked at the right time and Miami hit a wall. It happens.

The Heats* got OBLITERATED. Can't front, I'm still shocked that they got dismantled so easily. Props to the Spurs team for avenging their loss last year. That's exactly how you want to see your team respond to a bitter defeat. Tony Parker is one of the biggest douches in basketball. And Pop is a **** with a dose of Viagra in him. But they both still can't stop me from dapping Tim Duncan, who I have been watching since WF battling Joe Smith at UM and Kawhi "Sugar K" Leonard for being a BOSS.

Bron needs more help no doubt (and not Melo either). Will be interesting to see how Riley retools in the offseason.

The biggest question the Heat will face this off-season is whether or not they can re-sign Top 10.

Once that's settled, everything should fall into place for Miami.

there was a moment when the heat's lead today had people thinking this would go to a game 7, but it sure didn't last very long

spurs simply dominated the heat. treated them like high school players basically

it was pretty satisfying to see, but it made me feel even better seeing real champions work hard for their accolades

Miami's in a tricky spot because a lot of people will be up for free agency, and their roster will look quite different going into next season. However, for one reason or another, Bron Wade and Bosh will be there for the Heat next season. That's still good enough to win the east and get back to the finals again.

So while they do need improvements, they in all likelihood will still be overwhelming favorites to get out the east.

Has Wade really been asking for a max contract?

If so then Miami should dismiss that idea of his asap

That team gotta figure a way out to be more creative with the overall roster.

Yeah he said no paycuts. But when he goes to the bargaining table the Heat need to have a video of him in games 3,4,and 5. And write 28 missed games on the board and have Wade ante up the money the Heat are paying Tim Grover, and then see how fast he changes his tune...

IMO, LBJ is coming back for sure.

The biggest question for the Heats* is whether or not they can get the Big 3 to take an even bigger pay cut to bring someone else in. The rumors about Melo might be intriguing, but if I was LeBron, I would wonder if that roster spot wouldn't be better off going to Kevin Love. (On a side note, Amar'e would be a fantastic fit with Miami. Deng, Pierce, Gay, and Granger would be nice too).

Crazy part is - outside of the Mavs and the final Thunder game - every single Spur win was a blowout. Portland, OKC, Miami. 11 of those last12 wins were 15+ point wins. 12 of 16 wins were by 15+. This was a dominant run.

Salute to the Spurs and as hard as it is to admit the better team ended up on top :{

Wade doesn't deserve a max contract anywhere.

I hope Miami gives it to him anyway to tie up their money.

I didn't see JA made an offseason thread, so whenever the mods feel like it, they could lock up this thread.

Fun season, congrats to San Antonio and their fans for getting their revenge against Miami.

i really believe that Dwayne Wade will opt in and continue to: KEEP GETTIN THEM CHECKS BRO!

He is a 10 million per year player now and in a couple of season he can be a middle level exception guy.

There is non doubt that he will take less money next year if he going to test free agency.

i think he will do the Amare.

That being said. i think Chris Bosh will be chased from many teams, he is a really good player (also after the last part of the finals series) and he can go away and get max deal.

Lebron can do all he want. He is the best player on the league. he can to NY (sign and trade) he can go to Cleveland, he can go to the lakers, he can also build an arena, play there alone and go sold out every night.

I think if wade opt in Lebron will leave. if Wade opt out and resign at 10 million a year Lebron can come back to Cleveland. imho it's really hard to imagine a scenario different from this.

shout out to the spurs, knew they were the best team but not by this much....i think the postseason really caught up to the heat....if this was 7 games midseason it would be different outcome IMO
