2010 NBA Trade Deadline thread

He was playing the Knicks the whole time as if the Rockets didn't have any significant offers from other teams. When Sacramento stepped in, NY almost had no leverage.

Kings ain't done....we still have Kenny Thomas expiring and are looking to trade him and Nocioni.........Boston for Ray Ray?

knicks land the virgin
guess he will have to wait to get his cherry popped till next year seeing that i dont think this move wont get them in the playoffs
and even if they do, they 1 and done

Making excuses already and thinking of "conspiracy theories" because you're jealous of Bron getting more love than your idol Kobe.  It's okay to like another basketball player.  So is John Wall your next "hated  player?"   Only if he takes away Kobe's shine huh?

bro you do know that noble is like the biggest kobe basher right?

i really hate the fact just cause were Laker fans it doesnt mean were kobe stans...he just happens to be our current best player on our favorite team

hey ska is the biggest kobe basher laker fan lol

ive bashed him since the 3peat tho. i have a good reason to hate him though. he does bone head play after bone head play for my team.

unlike these other dudes who hate for no reason.

Jordan Hill might very well be a bust, but, we'll find out. He's under contract next season, and then has team options for the next two years after that. Low risk, high reward if he pans out.

Again, Landry is solid, but his contract is up after next year. He's only making 3M per. He's going to cash in, and the Rockets more then likely couldn't/wouldn't break the bank for him.

Knick fans need to keep their eye on the goal.

You got rid of Jeffries.

You got TMAC

Tmac can re-sign if he stays healthy and works out. Pretty cheap too next season.

Add your two max contracts and You got a team going.

Chance for multiple playoff appearances>Jordan Hill

Truly not a big deal for a draft pick that got no run anyway in that system

Still, Houston made out like bandits if:

1) Yao can stay healthy
2) Martin can stay healthy
3) The Knicks don't get LeBron or Wade

Like bandits

Walsh got cap room and nothing else. Not as bad as what Isiah did, but he's still under a ton of pressure to make something happen this summer so that they don't have a bad product and no picks.

Still disappointed the Lakers didn't address their gaping hole at point. The Lakers are weaker at point guard than any other contender (top 4 in East; top 8 in West) is at any other position according to 82games.com. Only other team that comes close is San Antonio at PF.

Dude man. We don't need cap relief. It will be really tough to get big FA to sign with the Kings even with all that money. Ray Allen won't re-sign with us and he's not even better than Martin at his age. This trade sucks imo for the Kings. Giving up on Martin and not to get any young talent in return? Landry is an offensive monster, but he will demand a lot of money when his contract ends in 2011. Dang, can't we get some picks. Dang it Petrie, cancel the trade to screw everyone. Just go for the John Wall sweepstake and keep growing like the Thunder.

Props to Les Alexander too. He more than likely will have to pay LT to keep Scola and Lowry. With Hill and the picks coming in, the financial commitment is almost worth it.

Battier and one of those picks might get traded in the offseason.

It will be HILARIOUS if the Knicks don't do what they want to do in the off-season in 2010 only to get like the no.2 pick in the 2011 draft and Houston will have it.

Rockets are the big winners in that trade. They technically get 2 first rounds picks (Hill + 2012) + possibly a high draft pick when they swap in 2011 + Kevin Martin. Damn that's a come up!

Not only that, but you don't need his scoring if Yao is healthy. His role will be significantly decreased w/ a healthy Yao and he (or the team) isn't good enough to have as an insurance policy (like Odom is for Bynum & Pau) if Yao isn't healthy.

It's a great trade for Houston because they weren't going to get better players w/ their cap space.

even if we did trade for a point guard most likely dfish would still start. if we got a hinrich do you actually believe phil will insert him in the starting lineup?

So what do the Knicks have now other then money?

No players, and no picks for the next few years.
