I think aside from Khan, Freddie will bring back Shawn Porter and Rashad Holloway and probably a couple more defensive/counter-puncher typesparring partners. No one can imitate be Floyd. I remember watching JMM's sparring partners in 24/7 and they did kinda look silly trying to mimicFloyd's stance and style. Best Freddie has to do, is get a bunch of orthodox fighters that has alot of speed and are defensive minded.

Cotto Talks About His Final Year
Posted by Joe Roche on 12.04.2009

Miguel Cotto who has announced that he will retire next October when he turns 30 years old has run off acouple names that he would consider fighting before he hands up the gloves, and one name inparticular in not on the list.

"I've already said enough about Margarito. It's a close chapter in my life," Cotto said.

The name that Cotto did talk about included ex-champion Jose Luis Castillo of Mexico. But no matter who Cotto takes on in the ring the people in his cornerwill not change including rookie trainer Joe Santiago who caught a lot of criticism after the Pacquiao fight.

Cotto.......

Like I posted before, hopefully fighters/promoters blacklist that cheat and he's fighting in some Mexican back alley donkey show.

Edit:

This dates back quite some time, but the thing about Ferocious is that he balloons between fights and puts his body through too much that he is completelydunzito by fight time. Also, son was never the same post Trinidad cheatdown.

Good to know Cotto retiring

If he's made enough money in thesport, it's pointless to risk your health when you have a young family to raise.. especially with the punishment he's had the past year and a half. Iwas hoping Rafa Marquez and Izzy Vasquez would do the same thing

Z Gorres is now out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is in the recovery room. The presence of his wife Datchess has helped a lot.

ALA Promotions patriarch Antonio Aldeguer relayed the good news via text message Saturday afternoon. Gorres has also been able to write and has been responding well.

This is an excellent sign of recovery when it comes to higher brain functions.

Gorres underwent emergency brain surgery after he won his bout against Luis Melendez of Colombia in Las Vegas one day before the Pacquiao-Cotto megafight.
Round 2 to start with Abraham-Dirrell
Dates have been set for the second batch of bouts in the Super Six World Boxing Classic, promoter Gary Shaw told ESPN.com on Friday.

Shaw is one of the five promoters with fighters involved in Showtime's revolutionary modified round-robin tournament featuring six elite super middleweights.

Andre Dirrell (18-1, 13 KOs), who is promoted by Shaw, will face tournament leader Arthur Abraham (31-0, 25 KOs) of Germany in the pre-determined opener of Group Stage 2 on March 6 at the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

The other two bouts of Group Stage 2 will take place on April 17. Showtime will air a doubleheader on that date, opening with taped coverage of Carl Froch's title defense against former titlist Mikkel Kessler (42-2, 32 KOs) from a site to be determined in Europe -- either Froch's home country of England or Kessler's native Denmark.

Then the action will shift to the United States for live coverage of titleholder Andre Ward's first defense against Jermain Taylor, or another opponent should Taylor drop out of the tournament, as some expect he will do.

Taylor (28-4-1, 17 KOs), the former undisputed middleweight champ, has lost four of his last five fights and has been brutally knocked out in three of the losses, including back-to-back 12th-round knockouts to Abraham Oct. 17 in Group Stage 1 and Froch (26-0, 20 KOs) in April.

Ward (21-0, 13 KOs), who thrashed Kessler for a lopsided unanimous 11-round technical decision in an upset on Nov. 21 to win a title, likely will have his April bout in his hometown of Oakland, Calif, site of his victory against Kessler.

Abraham leads the tournament with three points -- two for the win against Taylor and an extra point for the knockout. Ward and Froch, who outpointed Dirrell on Oct. 17 in Group Stage 1, each have two points. Kessler, Taylor and Dirrell have no points.

The four fighters with the most points after Group Stage 3 will advance to the semifinals.

They couldn't find a better venue for King Arthur & Dirrell?

Ward getting back to back fights in Oakland amost stop the super 6 from going down I thought they changed it to him just fighting in another place in thestates.

Nope. That's an hour away from me, I'll probably catch that one live.
