Exact same injury happen to a Colombian dude Friday, hopefully James or Mina hook him up with who at Everton helped Gomes.

Don’t watch if you’re squeamish

We have to consider that a return timetable for an average midfielder is probably completely different than that of an NFL franchise QB. The Dallas Cowboys have a lot staked on Prescott’s future so they’re more likely to “shut him down” as a preventative measure, not because he isn’t ready to return.

So is Gomes returning earlier because European sports medicine is more advanced or because he plays a sport where risk of re-injury is less and he needs to remain relevant to stay employed?

Good question, I thought about this too. Maybe Gomes and all these other players are gambling on themselves. Maybe it’s a different mindset because they know they can replaced quicker.

This is something the Athletic or a reputable sports news outlet should research.

Ugh.

Dude, I have pickup tonight. Don't want to see that...

jking0821 jking0821 I'm on board w/ the AG plate recommendation on any artificial surface short of that annoying green carpet. Apparently Neymar converted to AGstuds after his 2nd ankle injury in the Vapors of a generation ago b/c of getting stuck in the playing surface.

At this point I'd be happy to just sell him in the winter. He went from future club legend to a villain. Constantly our worst player on the pitch. It's pretty clear he doesn't want to leave, but we're not paying him 20 mill+ when he's not even a starting caliber player anymore for us. Sell him and use the money for Upamecano. Back line of Pavard, Upa, Lucas and Davies sets us up really nicely for the future.

My understanding is that the case has procedurally shifted now to whether the alleged victim possessed or lacked capacity to enter into the confidentiality agreement w/ CR7s team. I don’t think it is going forward as a pure “did he do her?“ situation, but I haven’t actually downloaded any of the pleadings.

Her counsel tried a ploy about a year ago of filing the Complaint in both State and Federal court, but the State allegations were dropped pretty quickly (Likely due to SOL issues, but again, don’t know for sure).
Yeah that is what I got out of the 2 paragraphs I read - both parties agree the act happened, just if when she signed the NDA she was in the right mental state

Can y'all break this down and put it in layman's terms

Can y'all break this down and put it in layman's terms

Basically, the lawsuit started with the woman suing CR7 alleging sexual assault.

As facts got teased out, it was discovered that CR7 didn't deny knowing the woman, partying with her, having her up to his hotel room, etc., but the dispute narrowed to whether the sex they had was consensual at the time.

CR7's team introduced a non-disclosure agreement signed by the plaintiff, basically as evidence that she had consented to sex that night, and been "compensated" for it in exchange for her discretion.

The plaintiff then challenged that she possessed the legal capacity to enter into the non-disclosure agreement - if she doesn't have legal capacity to sign the agreement, it is invalid, and if invalid, it can lend support to the idea she didn't consent to sex. Kind of like the idea that a minor can't enter into a binding contract. The matter won't be tried in front of a jury, but instead just before a judge (a "bench trial.")

The woman's attorney filed the case in both Nevada state court and the local Federal District Court at the start, but they wound up sticking with the Federal proceeding and dropping the State proceeding. I don't know if that's ever been completely teased out as to why, but its possible that was because the Statutes of Limitation for the alleged bad acts may have already expired under Nevada law, but not Federal law.

Make more sense?

yessir. I copped the prestos, air force 1s, pre match top (best clothing piece IMO), shorts and strike pants. they knocked it out of the park with the collection. my only gripe is they didnt use the regular royal and red colors but a more washed out blue/red. I showed my mom and she was disgusted at it not being the traditional colors. Said it didn't feel like authentic korea apparel

Feel like they picked the wrong color name set for that Korea kit tbf though it’s better executed then the United kit

Apparently the woman wasn’t a sex worker of any sort - she currently claims to be an ex-teacher.

Pre-Georgina. I don’t think he’d even transferred yet from ManU to RM.

I wonder if Frank De Boar gets fired if Holland lose against Italy tomorrow. He would have been in charge for a total of like 1 week and half

Oh great, who’s the MFer responsible for giving CR7 COVID before the game tomorrow. Couldn’t have waited until Thursday?

Now everyone in Champ’s pic is going to be infected because of CR7 :smh:
