What is Kona Reeves gimmick? Is he "special"?

I'm getting Hawaiian Eugene vibes from everything I've seen so far.

Yeah, wasn't impressed with his showing at TakeOver.

Seemed stiff and mechanical to me.

He's like a grown up Enzo, charismatic as hell, meh in the ring.

Will see if his solo debut next week changes my impression of him.
 
Reeves has been there 3.5 years?? Damn, this really is his last shot. I guess a Sonny Siaki/Flex Kavana gimmick is words better than whatever he was doing before.

Didn't watch old NXT when he was Derrick Bateman and my cable provider never carried the obscure channel TNA was airing on during his run there, so I have only have to go off what I've seen so far in NXT.

His theme is nice and he's very charismatic, but he's meh to me in the ring.

That pretty much sums him up. He’s not much more than basic in the ring, but has a lot of charisma and can talk his *** off, which is what’s needed right now with so many wrestlers that can work so well in the ring but can’t talk and kill crowds during segments
