Huge CM Punk News

- Part of the reason why Brock Lesnar has returned and The Undertaker is working next week is because CM Punk won’t be returning anytime soon and WWE needs star power on TV.

Before this past Monday, the plan was for CM Punk to come out on RAW and whine about losing at WrestleMania 29, then walk out of the company in the storylines. This was held off from the post-WrestleMania RAW because officials felt that Punk would get a big reaction from the post-WrestleMania RAW crowd. Another reason it was held off is because Punk wasn’t happy with the verbiage they wanted him to use and didn’t want to come off as a whiner.

A few weeks back, Punk had a big blow up with WWE creative and wanted to give his notice to quit the company. He went and worked it out with top WWE officials. At that time, it was decided that Punk wouldn’t be working live events anymore, just TV and WrestleMania 29.

Between the backstage problems and severely tearing knee ligaments at WrestleMania, Punk was written off TV this past Monday at RAW. Punk will be fine once he rests up and lets his knees heal. Right now there is no set plan for Punk to return but word is that he won’t be back until SummerSlam time.

That's a big blow for them. Who'd be the top heel on Raw now? Ryback?

Again this all comes back to WWE not building up their young talents well. They just can't rely on veterans to keep on saving them forever. I hope the fallback from Punk's abscence finally gets them to build on the younger talents more. I wish someone could take advantage of the situation and step up. Hope it's Cesaro ho takes the ball and runs with it :smokin

Glad he didn't go that route.

Source?

Also, does anyone else wish WWE would make Sandow a bigger character? I'm new to the forum so I'm not exactly sure how any of you guys feel about him...

- Original plans for Brock Lesnar and Triple H had them re-visiting the feud later this year, not doing a third match at Extreme Rules. The planned angle with The Rock and Brock Lesnar for the post-WrestleMania RAW that didn't happen would have built to a SummerSlam match, not a WrestleMania XXX match as previously reported.

Regarding The Rock, there is a lot of concern, or maybe just paranoia, among people within WWE that he will never wrestle again.

- Vince McMahon was the one who came up with the idea of having Antonio Cesaro drop the United States Title to Kofi Kingston on Monday’s RAW. Vince’s main reason for the title change was to keep up RAW momentum coming out of WrestleMania but there are rumblings that Cesaro has upset someone and is in the doghouse.

With that said, both Kofi and Cesaro were praised backstage for their match on RAW.

Extreme Rules Spoiler
- Word coming out of this week’s WWE TV taping is Brock Lesnar will defeat Triple H in their steel cage match at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view. Some are worried that Lesnar will look weak if he loses their next match. Officials want Lesnar to continue to look strong for any main event feuds they come up with over the next year.

This is why the 3MB attack was booked on Monday’s RAW. WWE officials were very pleased with the way Lesnar came off, especially the crowd tease at the end where he almost hit Heath Slater a third time.

- WWE officials have decided to go forward with the Ryback heel turn and there’s a feeling that they’re rewarding him for helping carry some of the main event storylines over the past few months. Ryback has pushed for a heel turn for months now and made it known backstage that’s what he wanted.

There was talk of doing a slow heel turn over the next few months but they decided he needed to be as close to full-on heel as possible before main eventing with John Cena for the WWE Title.

Hilarious x idiotic.  Let's even consider putting HHH over our $5 million dollar man that only wrestles 3 times a year.  Freaking morons.

Damn, no Punk until August. Honestly, what reason is there to watch?

They're clearly gonna ***** out Zigs' title run, they won't let the Rhodes Scholars, PTP (who truthfully should be broken up and let the obvious Michaels and Jannettys of the teams take their natural places) or even the Usos, who I kinda like) shine, they don't give a **** about the Divas or smaller workers (Gabriel, Bryan, Bourne upon return)...the Shield ain't that damn interesting. Nobody's going to spend 3 hours waiting for a Cena match and the odd Jericho resurface.

Somebody has their whole **** in the product right now, and they're gonna have to step their **** up in a major way and start making people care about these nobodies or this could be a rough summer.

Everyone remember... plans change very rapidly in WWE.  No Punk till August today could mean he's back on the next Raw tomorrow.  Let's not all overreact just yet.

It's going to be a very interesting year to say the least. Not sure how this will work without punk. Tag team division sucks, and only tops guys now despite ziggler are all old they def need to put more time on the lesser titles to help in developing talent.

I like sandow's character but his build has been crap. Its these start/stop pushes that really kill him and the entire roster for that matter.

Punk leaving may be good for the Shield. They'll get to step up to the plate and get the shine they deserve. Everyone else is screwed.

Def think Punk being away will be good. Esp for him, he needs the rest and can come back fresh.

Good job on all that momentum this RAW, Vince.
