With the economy still declining, Jordans are still selling out.

Indirectly it's race.  It's really about the culture of lower-income families spending money they shouldn't be spending and indirectly a huge portion of that population is poor blacks and hispanics.  This doesn't mean that poor whites don't do the same thing either; I'm sure workers at Abercrombie, AE, etc. witness the same thing going on there too.  I'm sure Apple store workers see it in regard to iPads/Macs and I wouldn't doubt it happens at private schools with people trying to put kids in schools where they can't afford the tuition.  And I know for a 100% fact it happens across the whole color/race spectrum for females when it comes to expensive designer purses.

The economy was never declining. There was all this hype on this is going to the second great depression but nothing came of it and people are still spending like nothing happened, and on top of that people are still going in debt. So that is why jordans are still selling out, "I'll just put it on credit!"

Work hard and reward yourself.

That is my moto. I work my buns off, cause I like to be able to buy stuff for myself and family/friends. I do it legitimate and honest.

Do I know this is going to last my whole life, probably not, so I am doing it now.

But, then again I can afford these releases and still be able to pay the bills on time.

No debt here.

Thanks.

To me,it seems like a "cultural" thing for all Americans to have Jordan's. Even in the early 90's it was common knowledge that air Jordan's were a "must have" shoe fo all Americans , rich or poor. That was the sort of information that filtered down to us in Australia, and this was the "pre-internet" generation, so this kind of info coming through what was going on in America was rare. So it's no surprise that this behavior is passed onto the next generation.Jordan's were huge in the late 80's and 90's in Australia , but once MJ retired, advertising/marketing dried up and popularity dropped off. 90% of teenagers in australia with $$$ buy Nike air maxes and the only retros they buy are air max 90's.Only old school Jordan heads like myself still buy Jordan's .

just what i was thinking. you think people would pay bills on time, but rather have new jordans than paying rent, phone, gas and electricity, etc. in a timely manner. people's mindset are so out of whack. then again a good amount of people buying these shoes are also unemployed, using their unemployement checks for this!

Most of those people be kids man .........

Truth. There's a very smart way to use credit cards, but 99% of people use them poorly
