With the economy still declining, Jordans are still selling out.

just what i was thinking. you think people would pay bills on time, but rather have new jordans than paying rent, phone, gas and electricity, etc. in a timely manner. people's mindset are so out of whack. then again a good amount of people buying these shoes are also unemployed, using their unemployement checks for this!

My brother is in HS and has a part time job. I budget my money so that I can offered. And just cause the economy is down doesn't mean everyone is broke. There's plenty of people that make more money now then they did 10 yrs ago. But think about when titanic got the record when the economy was at its highest. Avatar broke it when the economy was at its lowest. Just the way it works.

Older guys like me with a couple of kids and a wife who worked in construction and made good money are the ones who are hurting. I am not complaining. I made my career choice and did well for a while. I dont buy as many shoes as I use to but when you are younger and have no family  and only have to provide for yourself why not buy whatever you want. If that want is Jays then let it be. I had a lot more expendable income when I was in my early 20's. Enjoy it while you can.

These are both very good points.

I know that some of these people are resellers, but how much can you really make nowadays reselling?

I remember when I was in HS, the spoiled rich kids, dealers, and people that worked would get Jordans, but nowhere near the
rate that it is now.

I'm more curious on how kids in college, and kids still in HS are seeming to get almost every Jordan release recently.

What are you guys thoughts on this?

just because you (a person in general) doesnt mean everyone has stopped. So if a person doesnt cop, there will be another person copping.....I dont think JB has to worry about things not selling, b/c the majority of their consumer base is not from collectors, but instead from HS kids who just buy buy buy and wear every pair out, they dont have pairs on ice. I know this because I went to HS with these kinds of people, when I broke out my 05 LS 14s in 2010, heads were turning.

I think that HS kids will cop and if they dont cop, there are other people who will cop. At my Shiek, they still had wc3s like a month after they dropped, I think JB over anticipated the demand on those, thus they made too many pairs relative to the number of people interested, thus why resale is basically retail.

Hey PTone, you are partly right, my HS was sixty percent black and a lot of those kids bought Jordans, but lived in not the best areas. A majority of my friends lived in areas that could be considered dangerous and when I went over there, I had to watch myself (it is good to be cautious whereever you go, but one should know an area before freely roaming into it). I know quite a few people who were shot and killed and were only 16 or so. its bad and the culture isnt helping. Some people buy shoes when they are struggling to pay for food, loans, etc....its a culture thing imo. Quite sad that some people would value a pair of shoes or a car over some food or loans. It depends on the area, but thats how it was in my HS. BTW I live by Richmond, CA (for those that dont know, there are a lot of gangs, drugs, and violence there) (I live in the neighboring town).

I get exactly what your saying I recently un ds my dmp 11 and I think I sent school bus full of young kats to the emergency room with broken necks . I saw one kid see them and literally ran to his other friends. And pointed them out to them. And Heard another guy tell his baby mama "ahh that n+%%a" and me and wife started laughing. My 4 yr old even breaks necks with kicks that are older then her.
