Before you do anything, make sure you drain the battery out.. Right before your phone dies, turn it off and charge it the whole night. Then follow these steps. It will help the battery.
Update the PRL- Go to settings, about phone, System Update and click on UPDATE PRL- Let it do its thing.
Update Profile- Same as above but the last step is to click on UPDATE PROFILE
Turn on Airplane mode and leave it on for 15-20 seconds. Hold the power button and click on airplane mode
Turn off airplane mode- Hold power button and click on turn off aiplane mode
It will take about 24 hours for you to star noticing the difference in battrery life.
The steps above should be done everytime your phone turns off or resets.
Download Battery indicator- go to the Android Market and look for BATTERY INDICATOR BY DASHAN. Its the free version that I have. Testujin23 is right, most of the people in here have EVOs. But to do what every they do to the phone, is almost the same steps. Just ask questions and they will help.

anyone? i guess i'll take the phone to the verizon store and see if they can clean under the screen or maybe even replace it.
can anyone recommend an app that will back up all my texts, apps, contacts, etc.

Dont think I will need the charger that is bundled on eBay and Amazon.
