Facebook phone was doomed from the start. They released the phone right before One and the SG4.....Damn .99 on a 2 year contract for a phone that will never see an official update from att or htc lmao. The 15,000 customers that bought it are suckers.

Samsung claims breakthrough in 5G mobile broadband: Download films in a second with 100 times faster smartphones

South Korean giant aims to commercialise technology within seven years

It’s one faster, isn’t it? With most people still waiting to upgrade to a phone or contract package that will allow them to skim the internet using 4G, it is with a weary shrug to the inevitability of progress that we acknowledge the news from South Korea that 5G mobile internet is on its way.

Samsung, a company that seems to be getting larger and more powerful every time you turn your back – like one of the Boo ghosts in Super Mario – announced in a company blog on Monday that its boffins have successfully developed transceiver technology which will allow them to roll out a 5G cellular band in about seven years’ time.

And, rather than being a noticeable but not game-changing upgrade like the one from poor, tardy 3G to 4G, Samsung reckons this technology could provide data transmission at a whopping 100 times faster than the current 4G networks of 2012. Which seems almost unnecessarily speedy.

And though you may have to wait until after 2020 to sign up for a compatible phone and the requisite eye-watering contract, the data speed could mean that downloads of huge files, such as HD films, could take mere seconds. Seconds!

Samsung’s announcement follows the news last month that the University of Surrey has been granted £35m in funding to create a centre dedicated to researching 5G technologies.

It’s obviously hard to comprehend what our phones will be capable of by the time 5G becomes a commercial reality – 2020 is further away in years than the iPhone is years old, after all. But if there’s one thing you can guarantee, it’s that by the time you sign up for a £50-a-month, 5G contract, it won’t be long before new advances in 6G technology are announced…

BlackBerry to begin offering BBM as standalone app to iOS and Android this summer

Thorsten Heins just broke what has to be the biggest news out of BBLive this morning: BBM is breaking out of its walled garden. Starting this summer, users running iOS 6 and Android ICS or higher will be able to download the BBM app for free and join in the messaging experience so highly curated by BlackBerry. Initially, however, only the messaging and group features will be accessible for outside users, but throughout the year, the company hopes to add BBM voice, BBM channels, screen sharing and video capabilities. You'll have to hold tight for a more specific launch date, as Heins didn't announce any concrete timing. But if you've waited for this news for years, what's a few more months?

I would have definitely downloaded BBM for Android if they released it 2 years ago.

I'm so happy it failed.

Most of my "friends" active on facebook are annoying as @!$@#. Why would I want to increase my exposure to them?

Word. Most of em complaining, posting HoesBeLike Memes, and or talk about God for likes.

Why would I want all that on my home screen. I installed fb home and took it right off 30 seconds flat

For real. Google's about to announce their all in one messaging service tomorrow, so might as well roll with that.

That facebook phone was pointless, especially when it was just a phone with their custom launcher on it that you could download on any android phone.

Nothing particularly special about the phone itself, and if you actually want to use Facebook Home you might as well just download the launcher on a S3, S4, or HTC One.

That's the thing. FB home had a little potential by itself, then they limit it to a few phones :smh: backwards.

I can't wait for Google I/0

Rocking with the OG att note right now, just found out I can flash radios from tmobile phones so I can actually use it with my tmobile service since I don't live in a refarmed area. still trying to hold out to see if tmobile going to get the black htc one. might just go ahead and cop the silver one on the 19th so I can get $100 for my ancient hd7.

any rom recommendations for the note? using black star xi right now...so far so good.

Just held the Black HTC One in my hands for the first time.  That joint is beautiful.  Feels so good in the hand.  Super thin feeling.  Didnt notice any difference in speed from my Note 2, but that is a good thing.   The screen is beautiful, even though I didnt notice much difference in the 1080p from 720p.  Those BoomSound speakers....

INSANE.  You have to experience it to truly understand.  While it wasnt enough to make me want to trade my Note 2 in, It is definitely an incredible device
Another glimpse at the Nexus 4 in white, this time on video

An extensive new white Nexus 4 sighting leaves us with just as many questions as it answers
We know based on previous pictures that at least in some capacity LG has made the Nexus 4 with a white casing, and this is probably the most extensive look at the device we have to date. At a conference in Dubai, the folks at TechView  found a white model of the Nexus 4 sitting on display at a Qualcomm booth of all places. The device looks basically identical to previous leaks to our eyes, with a "crystal reflective process" back plate, the same silver plastic band around the screen and black bezels on the front of the device. The device is running just Android 4.2 (rather than 4.2.2 like other Nexus 4s), but other than that nothing on the video stands out to us as setting this device apart.

Interestingly, more still photos of the white Nexus 4 surfaced from the same show in a forums post on The Verge, which also give us a good look at the device. One thing that these show us is the FCC ID printed on the back, which is identical to that of the current Nexus 4. Could this be little more than just a white color option to refresh the Nexus 4 several months after its launch? Google I/O may be a good time for Google to let us know  for certain.

Stick around after the break to see the video in full, and follow the source link if you're interested in seeing a few more random stills of the device.

What music player is everyone using? I'm using ZPlayer just for the interface, but anyone got any suggestions on other music players?

I just use the stock one personally.

I should add that I also like to use an entire home screen for just the music player, and Play Music just doesn't have a widget that looks good full screen... Thanks though, I've tried it, it's not bad. Just the widget is killing me..

I just started using Jet Audio about a week or so ago.. it's heaven. The EQ settings are marvelous. I'm getting sound and pound that I never gotten in other audio players.

Before I was using Cloudskipper or the stock google one. But it's like night tand day for me when I go back and try to listen to those now.

I use power amp. Been using it for years. Uber music would be a beast if they ever updated the app

So damb sexy wish mine was white

Trying to be so careful with the One and I end up dropping it as I got out the car from about 2 feet from the pavement. Screen is good but I got a scuff by the power button. Ill live with it as I don't like cases but I have insurance to cover me if the screen ever gets cracked.

Lol do you even know what cydia and winter board do? This doesn't provide anything new for android that can't be done with a launcher or root.

I would've never thought I'd see Cydia and Android together, but at the same time, this is where all the freedom is.

I used to use both when I had the first iPhone, and I had a lot of fun messing with them.

The iOS JB Community is chilling until iOS7, so this isnt surprising. Maybe they can brnig some Quality apps/tweaks to android, because alot of the stuff is poor lol.
