*USA Basketball* WOMEN EARN GOLD v. ESP (101-72)! MEN EARN GOLD v. SRB (96-66)!

So if Russ leaves next year and both planned to move on from OKC. What does that say about your opinion?

RUSS Aint leaving. He just signed a contract. The respect I lost for KD was not that he left. Its that he went to GS with all the superstar talent they have.If would have left to another team, I dont think it would have bothered me as much. You had these dudes on the ropes then you signed in the offseason with them?? That's a cop out move IMO.

He signed a three year deal contract that has a player option after year two.

He merely postponed his free agency for a couple of seasons while maximizing his earning potential in the process.

Ya'll want so bad to hate KD that ya'll fail to realize exactly what Westbrook did.

Regarless, I posted why I lost respect for KD. If RUSS does the same so be it. For now he on my good side :smokin

In reality I wanted RUSS to come to the Lakers. Looks like that aint happening anytime soon though.

I understand what he did but still, he leaves OKC in a good position if they find a great trade partner which is all I care about.

I don't expect to finish his career in OKC unless they bring in one superstar FA in the next coming years like Blake, PG, etc.

The next two years are going to be historic from him in terms of production.

He's easily the most gifted athlete to ever play the PG position and he's close to being the best passer as well.

If he could shoot he would easily be the best player in the league at any position.

He just had the 18th highest assist % of all time while having more usage than anybody in the top 50 besides himself last year.

If he really wanted to, he could easily break the record by just being more of a facilitator than he already is.

Donovan already saying he's going to up the pace next year, Russ is going to be out here putting up gladiator numbers.

27/7/11.

47%/29%/82%.

KD leaving to the Warriors made me lose respect for him but KD doesn't care about my respect about nor should he.

Am I the only one who is indifferent to KD's move to GS? I honestly don't care other than I wanted to see how the thunder would be with Olidipo, KD, And Russ.

I'm not really excited about the move but I also really don't care about it lol.

And reportedly Horford was down to join as well if KD stayed but who knows how true that was

Edit: sorry for thread jack I'll shut up now

Dammit RUSS would have been dope on this team. ohh well maybe next World Cup of basketball in 2019 He might be there :\

The cynic would say the reason for those numbers is that Russ holds the ball until he scores himself or sees a pass that will lead directly to a bucket. He doesn't get a whole lot of hockey assists.

To me, going with the eye test, he's not in the same class as Magic or Kidd in terms of passing. And, of current players, I would say CP3 is an overall better passer than Russ. But that's just my opinion.

I think what sets Westbrook apart is his killer instinct and his mentality. Kind of reminds me of a young Kobe (not playing style but his approach to the game). Westbrook has also learned to trust his teammates a little more each season which has boosted his assist totals.

russ does his own thing. not a lot of outside influence similar to guys like kobe, timmy, etc.
would've been awkward if russ was on team usa :lol

I don't think I'd put Westbrook ahead of Magic, Bird, Nash, Kidd, LeBron, CP3, Stockton as far as court vision/passing.

Through all the articles and podcasts I've listened to this summer, this seems true. I mean, I always got that vibe from him, but he seems to keep a tight circle and is not easily swayed.

Hasn't Russ played for Team USA before? At the World Championships in 2010 maybe?
