Ultimate Karen Vol. Official I Need to See the Manager Thread

Yeah every time a dog bites a stranger the owner responds "omg they've never done that before". You can't mind read a dog.

not every time

if you decide to walk onto my property uninvited, my dog is doing their job by biting you and protecting our home

In a public space, sure

on private property, nah

best of luck on your further discussions, don’t bother involving me

You posted the video.

People questioned why she was called a Karen.

You got defensive.

But ok.

Man did I say you DIDN'T answer the question?

I am responding to THIS statement.

You don't get to post the video, get questioned, and when folks don't agree with what you were saying you run away as if somebody was bothering you.

But do your thing man.

Children in the neighborhood come get their missed shot basketball, do a u-turn with their tricycle in my driveway, or version is selling their latest fiber optic packages all the time. I don't think its a dog owners duty to induce their dog to attack every single time.

Breaking and entering is another story.

IATT IATT Was she rude by knocking on his door and selling whatever services she had to offer?

Every uninvited guest thats on your property doesn't mean "shoot, shoot, shoot" neither does it mean my dog must, "bite, bite, bite."

was someone bitten in that video?
No but......

not every time

Do you have a question?

A pet owner’s responsibilities are not the same in a public space as they are on that person’s private property

People when entering private property should always be cautious

People when entering private property should always be cautious.

Dog Owners should make sure their dog is in a safe/secure location to prevent them physically engaging with guests.

Two things can be true. It isn't an either or.

You keep harping on this public vs. private space point.

No matter where a dog owner is, he/she should be considerate of other humans/beasts.

You should have sense enough to keep them away from others.

So I don't agree with this idea that there should be any different type of responsibilities in a public space vs. private space. (When other humans/beasts are around)

You keep harping on this public vs. private space point.

Because those are different environments with different obligations

For example, the wearing of a leash

In public, it’s rare the situation a dog should not have a leash

In private, the dog should be put on a leash when needed

And as far as being “a guest”, it depends on the type of “guest” how far I feel a person should go to accommodate

If someone is invited over who has an allergy or a fear of dogs, keep the dog in another part of the house

If someone comes over uninvited to solicit something, as long as the dog doesn’t bite them cool

Public or Private.

The dog owner's responsibility is to keep the dog and the people around them safe.

Not sure why that changes because it's your, "Private Property."

That's why I said you have to be trolling right now because there's no way you think what you're saying is valid.

If someone comes over uninvited to solicit something, as long as the dog doesn’t bite them cool

Yea because you can control them.

Not everyone

There are a lot of people I don’t want to feel safe entering my personal space and/or property

Yea, because that is the context in which this convo was based on.

I told you before that you were good at what you do.

Have a good night man.

Thought you said I was running

You ain’t have to keep quoting me

Never understood people who answer the door with the dog right there. Makes zero sense, everybody does not like dogs. When someone is at the door, I put mine in the room or behind the gate.

i do it because I don’t want random people feeling comfortable showing up at my house

I want them fully aware I have dogs

but I don’t let random people pass my gate.. I’ll come outside my house and talk through the gate and let my dogs run around the yard while I hear whatever it is they have to say

an important lesson should have been learned from home alone, some of the people who want to rob you will actually do their homework
