Ultimate Karen Vol. Official I Need to See the Manager Thread

Yeah I don't see what makes her a Karen. Seems like she was just babbling out of fear. People have phobias, no need to push it.

What made HER a Karen?

i just found it funny.. no clue why she jumped to calling dude rude while she was on his property

prob.. but she still on private property

if she’s in a public space, dude obviously has an obligation to keep his dog away from her (or anyone else)

Dude in my development lets his pitbull run around without a leash all the time.

Dog is really chill, but I thought it got loose the first time I saw it roaming around. I was shook as he'll when it ran towards me, but it just wanted me to pet him.

Nah, you got more dense than that. Come on now.

I mean if he thought she was trying to ROB him sure but I think it was easy to spot her just doing some door to door promotions.

Control your dog.

The dog didn’t bark or growl

the dog that actually lives on that property saw someone new and simple sniffed her

didnt jump on her

I am going assume that dog uses that yard on a daily basis to use the bathroom and to run around

she is a visitor to his space

Yeah I'm more on the side of the dude with the dog over the solicitor lady.

I don't think a dog lightly butting you with its nose and sniffing you fits the definition of "really rude." That's pretty normal dog behavior when a new person comes on their property.

Owner seemed like a nice enough guy, dog got a little excited, and she overreacted. You can't really use the "phobia" excuse either based off of her mannerisms and what she said about liking dogs.

I only use the phobia angle as a dog owner. I would never let my dog just run up on a stranger, no matter the circumstances. I usually ask "are you cool with dogs" before letting the dog out the door or off the leash to greet someone just because I've known people, seen delivery drivers, etc with real fear of even small dogs.

I had legit fear of any dogs for 20 years of my life. Slowly overcame it but it would irritate me whenever people would let their dogs off the leash and assume everyone in the world should be fine with it. When you're attacked at 3 years old that **** stays with you for a while

Respect.

Would it have been not "rude" if the dog bit her?

Because nothing prevented that.

I thought this was (or should be) common pet ownership practice. If there is someone new coming to your door, keep your damn dog in the house.

You don't know HOW that dog is going to react to this stranger.

Yeah every time a dog bites a stranger the owner responds "omg they've never done that before". You can't mind read a dog.

Yea I can't tell if you are being serious right now.

But you and I both know ONLY using the outcome (dog NOT biting / attacking) to determine if it was best practice is nonsense.

You are better than that man.

Never understood people who answer the door with the dog right there. Makes zero sense, everybody does not like dogs. When someone is at the door, I put mine in the room or behind the gate.
nah b
its my dogs house too, hes pulling up cause he got my back
its on the visitor to decide if they really wanna be there

In a public space, sure

on private property, nah

best of luck on your further discussions, don’t bother involving me
