its a few of yall that need to submit to an imediate drug test

Like how is The Roots qualified with 1 rapper?? I thought a rap group was a group of guys rapping . . . A wack verse from Malik B every nowand then doesn't make them a group. Eric B & Rakim?? GangStarr?? What?? I mean if this constitutes a "group" why no mention of Boogie DownProductions?? Their catalog is better than Gang Starr by a lot. And the majority of the "groups" named in this thread . . .

And its been stated many times, the first few solos coming out of Wu were all made in a group enviorment, best rhyme got the beat . . . And it was the wholegroup helping out on the solos up until the group of albums Post Wu Tang Forever, but the rest of those are all inhouse, from production, to ideas, to most ofthe features . . .

Damn I dunno how I didnt remember CNN and Fugees, if Fugee's had more albums they would be top 3.

If this Top 5 thing is based on facts and not personal preferences, any list without 'Kast is suspect at the very least.

I understand not liking the music, but regarding the HISTORY of hip-hop, you'd be hard-pressed to find a group as innovative as them. Not to mention theirlongevity and overall impact on the game. And after all these years and 3 Stacks venturing out into singing and acting, when they come together they STILL dropstraight HEAT--"Royal Flush" anyone? There aren't many rap groups that have that kind of longevity and are successful with it(AKA, still makegood, quality music).

Again, we all have our personal preferences and tastes. You don't have to like Outkast on the musical tip. But if you claim to be heavy into this thing wecall hip-hop, you have got to respect and recognize these dudes for what they are and what they've accomplished.

YO!

All I been saying... outside of personal preferences, what is there to go on? Critical acclaim, sales, longevity, impact? If there's points tobe awarded in those categories... there's no FIVE GROUPS that would outscore them. DF!!!
