I agree with Wavy but using the 2015 team’s pic without the much needed context is disingenuous as hell

They still won 67 games...had the highest point differential and got to the finals bruh. A Historically great team. Injuries are part of the game. They did what they were supposed to do.

Not like they were some Juggernaut team that was assembled with established superstars and a renowned coach. Nothing disingenuous about that.

DisingenuousCrocket :hat

KD fell into GSW's lap but i don't think anyone foresaw Klay and Iggy becoming what they did lol

I know you got receipts of that ESPN graphic with all the expert pics before the 2014-2015 season lol.

Thunder, Clips, Spurs out West. Cavs & Bulls out East....only a few had the Warriors as a dark horse (FiveThirtyEight and Ethan Strauss).

But most thought 14-15 was a Cavs Vs whoever came out of the West Bloodbath. With the Clips/Thunder being seen as the teams to take the mantle from the Spurs. And it almost happened, but Clips chocked a 3-1 lead to Houston.

I mean...to me, they’re 1A & 1B. You can argue it either way. It’s much closer than you making it seem over the last 5/6 years

I do know that Steph Curry has won and gotten to the finals....THROUGH KD. And has gotten to the finals....2 other times, and won One without KD.

That’s indisputable. Can’t say that for KD.

The last 5/6 years is arguable in terms of accomplishments yes. Although steph fans conveniently leave out defense, which steph is mediocre at best.

but again the 5/6 year thing is great for steph but KD was literally an MVP before Steph ascended. And has kept that level of play up since. So yes it's close if you erase 3-4 seasons of MVP caliber ball from KD's career.... sure. But in totality it's not. And when both are 100% it's not.

When Both are 100%...I’m taking Prime Steph over Prime KD by a hair. Prime Steph is going to lead your team to somewhere close to 60-70 wins, as the #1 option with a solid team built around him. KD...55-60. We’ve seen it.

It’s most definitely arguable.

I’m not discussing their entirety of their careers. I’m discussing the last 6 or so years. When they were both in their full prime at the same exact time. I could make the case for Steph. I’m not mad if you go KD. I really do think it’s THAT close. And you aren’t giving the proper context to them at their peaks.

SO mediocre it's led to 3 rings, and a dynasty.

In these discussions, I acknowledge Steph's shortcomings (mostly due to athleticism and height) defensively when it's necessary, but, in reality there's no need to because he's still a plus there. Especially when compared to some of his peers. I mean Westbrook, Lillard, Kyrie all fall asleep on defense plus die on screens but yet that's NEVER talked about LOL.

He rarely does that. He gets "exposed" when he gets crossed or a player makes an incredible shot, like everyone else.

If his defense was SO mediocre why did Lebron pass to George Hill in game 1 of the finals? LOL

Btw, there were whole bloopers of Bron's defensive blunders. the previous season. Him being trash on that end since 2017 were on display last year but yet that's NEVER talked about*

*He's better this year

The entire impact of Steph's game supersedes the need to be an elite two-way player.

Two-way player=/ greater player.

If this wasn't true he wouldn't have 3 rings. I don't care how great Iggy's defense is.

Other superstars being mediocre at defense Doesn't excuse him any less  . My point in bringing up Steph was in comparison to KD & Both guys can go out & get you 30 on 50/40/90, However one gets hunted by a sixth man, And the other you could stick on Lebron in a tight finals game.

i agree two way player doesn't = greater player.... but in this specific case your talking about a guy who is arguablt the greatest scorer of all time & can also be an elite defender.
