the thread about nothing...

Ah, I see. Now that I understand a little more, I’ve always wondered why America sometimes refers to black people as “negro”. They're not Spanish speakers so I do find it odd that word be spliced in when they’re talking about history. Us Latinos don’t refer to white people as “blanco” (the word for color white). Just know that “negro” is not offensive in our language in case you hear it said by someone in Spanish conversation.
the U.S. of A is pretty politically sensitive when it comes to wordings like that. a typical common word like Negro is generally accepted in the Latino world as reference to complexion/ethnicity without the malicious intent. in the U.S. it's taken out of context and considered as rude and identified as slave. I have a dark brown complexion but I'm referred by my family as a Negro since my complexion is darker than the conventional complexion of our family which are generally fair skinned. added that my mother is a mestiza which made it even more awkward. I took offense to it since it made me feel like an outcast eventhough the main reason by their taunting is to make me mad because I got a very short fuse. over the years, I accepted what my complexion is. during summer, I'm really dark. in winter, I turn fair-skinned a bit. and with my wife, She's Milk and I'm black coffee.

depending on the RPG but not MMORPG or anything with a party system and loot. I prefer playing solo and in most games. classic FF7 got me into it. I'm all about Final Fantasy. so annoying that stupid Sony exclusivity kept the game on hold and even till now, the PC port ain't even out yet even if it was suppose to release back in April. the only annoying pary of it was that my vacation days are all spent in that month with nothing to do and no game to play.
Yes, loot is horrible, reason why I had to stop Borderlands 2 quickly, I was ok with XP system, amount of weapons, improving them, but to look at stuff is exhausting and I really don't care, in fact even improvements, just give me that gun and that's all
I love the revolver in Half-Life 2, the feeling of shooting with a revolver in a video game is very satisfying, they should use it more often. You have few ammo and you got to aim, quite the opposite of all these weapons which ones you just got to spread in the air
The shotgun in The Ultimate Doom was incredible too, not really a shotgun as you could aim at long distance though

I like the OG FF7, there are some parts at the beginnings I don't like, but everything about combat was great to me. I played to FF8 then and I was quite disappointed so I didn't even finish it. But VII was great, even if it's always getting very repetitive to provoke combats to gain XP. That's where the problem is : you want to have the best stats but at the end there is no challenge, so the best part sould have been the beginning, but at the beginning you wanted to be the strongest, so hard to appreciate each thing at its time. For me, at least.

In my opinion, PC were and are always the best for playing. And I think that's why a lot of times releases on PC come lately. Because they need to sell consoles we would not care in a few years for the most of us. As a shooter lover, except GoldenEye on N64, I think PC is the machine to have, keyboard and mouse the best to play them, plus when your system getting better it would increase your frame per second, you would be able to increase graphics, so it's very pleasant as it permits you to rediscover old games if they're not remastered. A lot of old PC games still look great. And I don't know how it could be different : games are developped on PC. MMORPG seems like a nightmare to me : playing with people who spend so much time you wouldn't even be close to their level one day

That's where shooters are more accessible : even if you spend a lot of time on them, it's a lot about the instant, so even great gamers could be bad if tired or something...

Love this character in Breaking Bad thanks to the charismatic actor playing it. That's crazy how some actors could make us appreciate characters we were supposed to dislike / hate.
When they decide, for the interest of the show, to not only stick to "oh that's a nazi" or something similar.
Plus it's clever as it could bring some uncomfort to the spectators, mixed feelings like "I'm not supposed to like him but great character anyway"
Same happened to me with Max Cady in Cape Fear thanks to De Niro

Will probably forever be the best GTA game IMO!!
GTA best era for me was III, Vice City and San Andreas. And San Andreas was the best one. Love the 2 similar GTA on PSP. But since the IV it's not the same. The "realism" killed the vibe. And it's even worse with V. Only played it once full then sold it within a year. Tried it again years after when was free at Epic Games. But not satisfying at all. While I replayed several times to SA. Only problem I had with SA was some bug that erased my saves I think. I miss when GTA was more ridiculous, now we're like judging strange characters from average ones - except Trevor - but back in the days CJ was sometimes a coward like with Catalina  and his loyalty to his homies other times brought him troubles, plus we had the caricatural Eazy-E with us etc. I feel like game became more and more satirical , but at the time we were part of this mess, now just witnesses, or I just grew up.

I enjoyed GTA IV. Was a darker take on the series but it had the famous “Niko it’s your cousin Roman! Let’s go bowling!”
GTA V’s story was not memorable to me at all. That game is a cash cow. Rockstar has made billions off of it.

I remember GTA IV made me have to change my PC, which annoyed me a lot after I realized the game didn't deserve it
I love Johnny Klebitz from Lost and Damned, always looking angry but not a psychopath, atmosphere of this add on was great, would deserve a remaster along with GTA SA and PSP episodes

Oh wow, I didn’t know that is was seen as such. I’m used to hearing that word in documentaries and never knew it had malicious tone. Is there any reason why it’s still used today? For example the United Negro College Fund is one organization I’ve seen still use it.

Ne--- is as rude as the N word in France. When rappers called themselves something, it means that's rude
And as in the US they call theirselves by the N word, in France they do it but with Ne---
I'm very agree with the fact it goes directly with the slavery vocabulary.
I think only for spanish speakers this word is neutral. For all the others, it is anything nore neutral
I don't want to talk #### here because it's a serious thing but I wonder if the neutral word isn't due to the way how colons could have been describing people by their color, in their language, and the racist one by the fact people using it despite of not speaking spanish, and mostly not for referring to color but more to a period Blacks had no rights ?
In fact I even wonder if the word colon doesn't have a link with Cristóbal Colón ? I might do some researches...later

Alright so it definitely came from Cristóbal Colón
