I, too, thought he was older and a more seasoned Peter Parker based on all the experiences he's already gone through in that universe.

There's multiple life paths that affect the story. You can do one run through when it drops and do others when the Next Gen update arrives

Oh you're right but yeah with them announcing 7 years ago, there's no way this would be a next gen only. if it was like 2 years ago...
