The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I have no idea why, but I feel like I'm a much better video game player when I was a kid than I am now. I remember beating MGS1 at like, 9 years old but I'm struggling to get past the first few bad guys in my late 20s. :smh:
Maybe its because you only really had that game so you had to beat it. Moms was buying you games every week like we do today.

I may pick up Bloodborne since it's $20. I'll start it up with an open mind, but as soon as it frustrates me, I'm shutting it off only for it to be put it in the collection and never seeing the light of day again.
Id give you 15mins tops then lol

I feel like I’m better now because I have the problem solving skills of an adult, but I still am impressed by how good younger me was at games. A game like DKC and DKC2, I can’t see a lot of 7 year olds nowadays getting through. In THPS2/3 I was getting scores on one trick that had people calling me a liar :lol and I had nba street 2 down to a science.

For whatever reason my reactions and skill with “mindgames” against an opponent seemed sharper back then though. Like in Dead or Alive for example where it had a Rock Paper Scissors type dynamic.

Yea having just one game to play for a long time definitely factored into mastering games. Like now I can’t remember one fatality in MK. But when MK4 was out I knew almost every character’s moves.

You’re better off donating that money to someone who needs it more than Sony in that case

If you actually do cop let me/us know and I’ll give spoiler free tips

Very true. Moms pays $50 for a game on PS2, I have no choice but to play and try to beat it. Don't have the luxury of taking the disc out and popping in something else like I do now as an adult.

Well damn.

Edited this in, making sure you caught it

“If you actually do cop let me/us know and I’ll give spoiler free tips”

Prepare to be frustrated if you get it. But I’ll be here to support you through it like others in the thread gave me to get through

Nioh worth playing?

Considering having a samurai phase :lol

Sekiro dropping and coincidentally just added a bunch of japanese classic films to my watchlist. found out Nioh is based on one of the prime writer's works (Akira Kurosawa)

Yes. It is VERY difficult though. And if you are interested in the true end game it takes hundreds of hours and I’m not exaggerating.

What makes Bloodborne so difficult, exactly? Is it the bosses? Enemies can easily swarm you?

In that case I wouldn’t care about the true ending just getting through the main game. I own the game already but always been on the fence about playing. Not sure if I want to learn deep mechanics of a brand new game.

Just played my first game of For Honor. With the right squad it was fun but monotonous. Def gonna keep that game in the rotation tho

It is masterpiece of a game though but the grind is crazy.

Probably my #2 hyped game right after TLOU

Really appreciate Easy Allies and how they cover and talk about games in general. When I got a PS4 and was waiting on RDR2 to drop, their coverage of that game as well as old reviews for the games I own now really helped me in choosing what kind of games I want to play.
I was already sold on Days Gone(just won't be a day 1, not trying to put myself in the hole backlog wise)
but this might've just put me over the edge.

We’re celebrating International Women’s Day at the studio and Sony is giving away this awesome theme for free. Hope everyone enjoys!
