The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I guess I can hop back on FFXV then. Was waiting for all the DLC to be added to flesh out the world and characters more. Kinda bummed by the news but another part of me is surprised with how much more DLC they had planned for the game since release

I read on ResetERA that SE took something like a $33M+ loss on Luminous Productions which I believe was headed by Tabata. I think I’ll go ahead and cop the royal edition of FF XV next time it’s on sale since there won’t anything else outside of Ardyn DLC.

I read that too, but they are still expected to finish the year in the hundreds of millions in profit.

This is what happens when they spread guys too thin. I feel like they dont trust any of their younger staff and had guys like Tabata, Nomura, and Yoshida taking on more and more.

Dayum. I was looking forward to it all too...

Check out @GameSpot’s Tweet:

damn i literally just looked into this last night. i beat the game when it came out and havent played it since. i was just wondering if they continued to support it like they said. saw they had yearly festivals in the game and all kinds of stuff. is the dlc worth it? cuz ill just buy em all at once if so

you can get a 55" 4k for like $350
nice, don't really need that big of a tv since it will be in my bedroom. Gonna have to research which brand has the best quality.

You can still benefit from the Pro on a 1080p, but you'll get the most out of it on a 4K HDR... and with 4K HDR games too, of course.

FWIW, I didn't buy a Pro till I bought a 4K HDR TV.
gotcha, I have an old Vizio in my room but I can't remember if it's 1080p. From the article you posted, seems like there's a "quiter" Pro but only available on the RDR2 bundle.

I will wait for next year to buy a 4k tv.

Or atleast until the announce pre-orders for the PS5.

The dlc is great. They really flesh out the characters and the new mechanics feel good. The royal ediition adds a lot more to do in the game as well.

BEST? lg oled. samsung qled is comparable. best budget 4k bang for buck will prolly be the vizio p or m series depending on ur budget.

royal edition adds more to do? can i buy it as an add-on or is it just stuff gets added to the base game so i gotta buy the game all over again type of deal?

So who else is ready to go in and splurge in a couple of weeks when the PS Store has their Black Friday sale and add to there ever growing backlog?
HAHAHA For real... I've been converted to digital only... goodbye sweet blue PS4 cases.

My pal's running the Pro on his 1080P TV - the supersampling that goes on behind the scenes is amazing. HDR for what it's worth is hit or miss - RDR 2's implementation of it is garbage.

Another thing to keep in mind is that a $350 4K TV with HDR will be cutting corners tremendously. You want to spend more on a mid-range TV.

Idk lately when I’ve been thinking of games to waste my money on just because, I can’t think of anything. Feels pretty nice.

Oh absolutely. I hate that I know it's stupid and I have more than enough to play, but I hate even more how I immediately dismiss that as "broke boi" mentality and am ready to buy games I kind of am interested in that I will forget about for 2 years.:smh:

You get what you pay for.
thats why i didnt list some of the cheaper brands honestly. if ur gonna do budget, save a couple hundred with vizio. but saving 4-500 off the price? nah. automatically something dont feel right

edit: ALSO, its been proven that many companies put out C grade versions of their models specifically for black friday. I remember a story 2 years ago that a customer bought a tv during black friday and when something inevitably went wrong he realized he had a tv set with a model number not even listed on their site. turns out it was a watered down version of the lowest tier of tv they had. real ugly
