The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Just finished the first episode of Life Is Strange 2. Had me in the feels. Daniel is such a good kid. :frown:

Battelfield 5 or Black Ops 4?

I'm going with BF5.

WW2 setting sold me.

Think I'm holding off on all games except Red Dead and maybe Odyssey until black Friday. Was hoping Spider-man would get me through to Red Dead, but I played a couple days ago after not playing like a wk, and they told me I was going into the last mission :ohwell:

Already on the road to skipping 2k and Live tho :hat

Was going to wait for a stiff discount on both, but a friend I gameshare with pre-ordered BO4. After playing Blackout, I am glad he did.

I have heard on various podcasts that BF5 preorders are doing very poorly.

I’ve enjoyed BLOPS 4 a lot more than I thought I would. From the MP beta to the blackout beta I’ve been impressed by the changes that Treyarch has been making to at least try and change up the formula because COD has been stale with the core gameplay being the same, more or less, for a lil over a decade.

BF5 is pretty disappointing tho WW2 or not.

I hate the changes that DICE made with this one. The attrition system they added doesn’t flow with the game really well as I always found myself running out of ammo and not being able to heal myself so I’d end up constantly having to run back to ammo and health stations which really takes me out of the game. I get the increased emphasis on class roles with the medic and support which is why they introduced the system but I wasn’t a fan of it throughout the beta. I also hate the upgrade system a lot with the two different trees that lock off progression so it kills experimentation with the weapons as there isn’t much in it. They don’t feel like they really had any impact on the weapons so I would’ve preferred they allowed attachments like they did with BF3 & 4. Idk why DICE is moving away from attachments on guns because it’s almost as bad as the variants in BF1

Damn, really?

Only really play TDM.

Whichever of the 2 is better, I'll cop I guess.

^Call of Duty has the juice this year, of all the dev groups Treyarch is by far the most progressive and consistent as of late. They got with the times and made a pretty fire battle royale in blackout to rival fortnite and pubg and of course the mp and zombies is still top notch. Blackout is easily the highlight tho, and with more expansion maps it can only get better. IMO it’s a top 5 title this year and must buy. If not for RDR2 it’s a strong GOTY candidate.

My PS4 started ejecting the disc automatically.

I did the rebuild database trick to get it to work.

Only worked one day.

Went on YouTube and found out that there is a small screw on the side vents you have to tighten

So far so good.

I don't want to ship it to Sony and wait 2-3 weeks.

I will wait for reviews on both.

If not then I will just stick to BF4.

Already on the road to skipping 2k and Live tho :pimp:

I never thought I'd say this..........but I think I'm with you on this lil thing.

I'm a big fan of NBA 2K for awhile and Live has made great improvements. HOWEVER with the amount of good games coming out this holiday season, not even a Black Friday discounted pick-up of NBA 2K19 or NBA Live 19 is considered for my "gaming agenda" to the end of this year anymore.

Besides stuff going on in my personal life, I don't think I'll have enough time to even touch a NBA game this year alongside the amount of other good games coming out AND games that have already come out and I'm considering diving into as well (Spider Man has me considered for a Black Friday pick up over the 2 NBA games). Not to mention Smash and Pokemon on the horizon (yes, I'm still gonna try out that "watered-down" Pokemon game at least), I won't simply have time to throw a NBA 2K game session in-between anymore.

I'm on the same boat with you.

:lol

Most likely to continue focusing on TLOU 2, Death Stranding and Days Gone. I wouldn’t be surprised if they tease/announce PS5 and next years PSX and then a full blowout by E3 2020. Release it in the Fall of that year.

Thought the same thing. Makes the most sense to go hard 2020.

Co-sign on both of yours thoughts, especially to add-on to the fact that "Sony declared themselves" that the PS4 is at the end of its actual life-cycle. It makes sense that Sony has nothing else major to announce for the PS4 this year AND should focus on finishing up their bigger first party projects and preparing for the infamous PS5 that they're preparing for the possibly next gen. announcement of 2020 at earliest.

Yeah there’s no point in developing any more AAA titles for this gen. It’d be dope to get sequels to Bloodborne, Horizon Zero Dawn and Spider-Man within the first 2 years of the PS5’s launch.
