Best way would be to extract a 2tb hdd from a seagate portable, then install it into your ps4. Such as this Amazon product ASIN B00TKFEE5S
They're pretty easy to open up, then you could use the case and 500gb as a portable 500gb hdd.

Seagates aren't the most reliable hdd brand, but it's the only compatible 2tb hdd at this point. You'd get 1.77tb once installed.

I installed that hdd into my ps4. No issues so far. Some people's ps4s started making random beeps after installing the hdd.

To transfer, you'd need to backup your old hdd. Then restore it on your new hdd.

I'd recommend just deleting all your games from your old hdd.

That way your backup hdd size is really small(only consisting of saved games or capture data).

You'd be able to restore it quickly, then start using your ps4.

Whereas you could be waiting 3-6 hours for your ps4 to restore from a 500gb backup file.

Instead, of doing that you'd just have to redownload your games while you have full control of your ps4.

He may get lucky and find some chump that may pay 80-100 but at that point ole boi may have ethical issues.
