Finally joined the PS4 club. Copped the GTA V Bundle

Can anyone recommend a good Contra-like 2-D side scrolling shooter for the PS4 or PS3. PSN or disc, its all good. Just looking for a nice side scrolling shooter.

Try Mercenary Kings, Stryder, or Resogun.

I like Resogun especially playin it with a friend can be lots of fun. I like Stryder but the controls on it are kinda awkward imo and has some difficulty to it too. And Mercenary Kings I straight up hated. I couldn't get into it at all it wasn't for me at all

It's not for everybody, but I had a blast with Mercenary Kings. I had a couple friends who I played it consistently with. It's a lot better in co-op and the difficulty ramps up the further you get. Some of the bosses are ridiculous.

yeah I've seen videos of it before i played which look fun as hell! I've been thinking about giving the game a 2nd chance i just need someone who knows what they're doing to show me the ropes
