If this petty comment is in reference to me, I'm actually in this thread daily and have been for at least the last year or two. I may not post every day, but I definitely keep up with what's going on.
In regards to every other part of this post, you're not "spelling" anything out. You're simply giving your opinion. Get off of your high horse.
its a cool game to me. i def don't like feeling violated when getting hacked tho. about to become a professional hacker so people can stay away from me
wait for it to go on sale trust me..... it is meh 6/6.5 at best... There isnt any action etc... more of a make choices/decisions type of game... a mystery if you will. Possibly has a good story. But i mean i like games that i actually do stuff. not just sit around watching cutscenes, pre empt movements, and all you do is basically say yes/no you should do this/that.
If ppl think watch dogs is bad iuno what they will think about murdered, unless you into those type of games. Kinda reminds me of a less interactive version of beyond two souls.
Do not get mad coming into a VIDEO GAME thread, where we discuss VIDEO GAMES, and be mad that a video game that is old enough to have been bought for 9.99 for the last 6 months is being discussed generally. Yes, spoilers should be used if possible. But if an NTer forgets because the information is basically public knowledge at this point, that's on you, not him/her.
I chimed into this convo because you implied your timeline of when it's okay to spoil games.
I've already had RDR spoiled by my brother, who's always eager to notify me of events that are about to happen in games, so I have no reason to be "mad."
This is the playstation thread, not the video game thread. The amount of threads for specific games supports that.
When ISS came out, we used spoilers to talk about the important parts of the game.
I would assume that the same will go for people who reach the tail end of Watch Doge.
Again, this timeline of when it's okay to talk about spoilers in a game is silly.
If I want to spoil Watch Dogs, I could say "The game has been advertised for months, so I get to spoil it." "If you don't own it by now, obviously you don't care about the story." This is why your timeline is ridiculous. Anyone can come up with his/her own justification as to why he/she is posting a spoiler about a game. Regardless of the game's age. Whether it be one week old or four years old.
How does info from a video game become "public knowledge?"
According to vgchartz, RDR sold 3.5 million copies. There's 300 million people in the U.S.
Do you see where I'm going with this?
And honestly, I have had a couple games spoiled for me and it has not lessened the value of the game to me. This isn't a tv show or movie; you are in it for the experience. If the story is that important, watch the 100's of Youtube commentaries and save yourself $60.
People are also in it for the story, which is why devs. always keep it under wraps before release. The story in some games is just as good as the story of tv or movies. People are not into games for the experience, they're into it for entertainment. Knowing what's to come lessens the amount of entertainment a person while have for that game, movie, or tv show. I think that's why a person's first playthrough of a game is the most enjoyable, since he/she doesn't know what to expect.
If I knew that there would have been those white monster things at the end of UC1, I would have not been surprised by them. I would have been like "oh great, a tougher enemy type to kill."
Instead, that event had more impact on me. Given the fact that I was surprised by them, which made getting through that part more fun and memorable.
It's like jokes. If you already know the punchline, the joke won't work as well.

beyond 2 souls...was iuno exactly how to judge it... i think the idea/concept etc was so different/unique and the story/plot is what made it so critically acclaimed. i actually had the game and beat it. It was the storyline, and the difference that made me keep playing it. In terms of gameplay it more or less was like a interactive short film... But that could be said about games like la noire etc... although those were pretty damn good/decent games.
