Yep, completely agree with you there. All the players have 'teams', but it's an individual sport. When you're out there it's 1 vs 1. Players on both tours have been figuring things out for themselves for decades.I don't like on-court coaching because I like to see players figure things out on their own. I know players cheat this rule all of the time, using creative signals,but tennis is a mental game.

I was actually trying to figure out if Berdych had a shoe-only contract with Nike last night... Do players like him and Isner generally keep shoe deals with sponsors even when they don't wear their clothing anymore? I know Nole keeps a shoe contract with adidas... I just think it's interesting that some companies would bother keeping deals like this when the players are wearing different threads. Uniqlo and H&M could be special cases since they don't make tennis shoes, but Lacoste certainly does.
This is interesting. With only a shoe-deal with Nike, Isner also gets their outlined-Swoosh version.
