What you need vents for on a mobile processor and flash memory.

There's no moving parts.

Your phone and tablets don't have vents. This is run ining a similar processor.

And just like mints mints said, my next notebook will be either this or an air.

A lot of people buy MBP's and don't even need one. Overcompensating for what they think they'll need. I used to be like that, and I develop. But For me personally, a spec'd out iMac is much better for home use and a smaller less powerful laptop for when I'm out.

Don't need a MBP anymore.

It's the best Facebook machine out on the market, I'll give you that.

only problem of putting a retina screen on the air is battery stamina. Apple claims what 11 to 12 right now, so with the retina probably 8-9. I will gladly keep the stamina over the upgraded screen.

Why would you get the Macbook?

Get the MBP.

Another this or that question:

A) 13 -inch Macbook Air

2.2ghz dual-core i7

8gb ram

256gb

$1,379

B) 13 -inch Macbook Pro w/retina

2.7ghz dual-core i5

8gb ram

256gb

$1,399

Just daily internet use and photoshopping for work.$20 difference so I'm a little confused as to which one is better.

Also, I've never owned a macbook so not sure if that makes a difference or not. Thanks in advance!

Don't think performance will be a huge difference between those two.

Comes down to if you want a lighter laptop vs a retina display.

Loving the new macbook but those specs :{

Will wait for the new macs they release later on since I just got an air a few months ago and I love it. Hated on them so much before but it does everything I need it to.

Have a MBP also but the keyboard and trackpad went haywire while I was in Cuba for a month. Basically none of the keys worked without having a usb keyboard plugged in. Took it to apple a few times and they couldn't tell me what was wrong with it. Today for some reason the keyboard and trackpad work perfectly :lol

Was it stored in an abnormally humid area while you were in Cuba? My old MB had issues where the battery would swell a bit on hot and humid days, which pushes on the connector for the trackpad/keyboard internally causing all sorts of issues.

It most definitely was :lol crazy thing is it went out the first week of November, one week into my stay while I was there. I had a feeling it was that but couldn't really do anything and wasn't 600-700 to have apple fix it. Wasn't worth it since my model will be considered vintage in the next few months and no more parts will be made for it after that even if it was still under warranty

Just copped the new 2015 Retina MacBook Pro.

So far it's :hat

This is my first Mac. Any good tips I need to know about?

Thanks in advance bros.

dang bro i know u dropped cash on that. my last macbook was a 15 inch dropped like 2 stacks and didnt even really use it other than browsing the internet ended up spilling water on it too :{

downgraded to a macbook air and alot more happy with it....

did you look into the new macbook coming out that gold one??

but for tips i would cop a time capsule i have one since the ssd is so small in the macbooks that i can back everything up to my time capsule i dont use regularly and keep what i use the most on the ssd i can also access my time capsule where ever i am thru my hotspot on my phone or when im sitting at my homies house on his wifi..

i convinced a couple other people to get one and now we can send huge files to each others time capsule using back to my mac. :smokin

Anyone know if there is a difference between the retina displays of a late 2013 MBP vs a 2014 or 2015 MBP? Or is there no difference at all? 8o

The updates are pretty much for the other hardware components, they do source the panels from different manufacturers but it's not something that's indicated on the box, and there's differences between the panels even within the same year.

The new Macbook is catching my attention. But I want to see the bench marks for it first. Really contemplating selling my 09 iMac.

It'll blow your 09 out of the water unless you've maxed out the RAM already.

I always suggest people do that before dropping a boatload on a new machine. I know you want the newest, but I'm definitely a pragmatist when it comes to Apple hardware. The soonest I've changed from one to another was with my first PowerBook and that's only because they'd switched architectures from PPC to Intel and I knew eventually they'd stop supporting it altogether.

I have a mid 2010 mnp with a cracked trackpad

and 500 gigs of memory. and 4 GB Ram.

It'll cost me about 70 bucks for a 1 TB hard drive, 110 to upgrade the ram, and 35 to install a new trackpad.

Should I do that, or just upgrade to a macbook pro for 1000?

Mid-2010 MBP checking in. I updated to a SSD and 8GB memory and my baby is still treating me good with daily use for school.

DISCLAIMER: I don't do to many resource-intensive activities on it beyond about 15 tabs running in chrome and a bunch of Microsoft word windows open.
