best way to "pre-treat" the shiny nylon laces is to roll them flat into a wheel. and let sit in that shape for a day or two. It gets rid of the starch so you can tie it up better.

Actually, “a little too bright” was exactly my thought the first time I saw a pic of the aquas. I’ve only very recently gotten into AM1s (as is evident from my post history) and I was trying to figure out which colorways I’d seek out first. I had just picked up currys, and was looking around for OG reds or obsidians when I saw the sale on the aquas. Suddenly “a little too bright” became “perfect summer sneaker”, lol

tl;dr - I don’t think I would’ve given them a chance if it hadn’t been for the sale. But now I’m very glad I got ‘em.

Interesting information, I def didn’t know about that. I probably won’t do this since I already swapped all the laces out and prefer the alternate white laces

True - Never came by a DS pair in my size, must have been a few hundred of each powerwall AM1 made? The lemonades and Teal GRs elude me, two oldskool pairs which I want in rotation. Were those BRS DS that you copped? Nice pick up.

I like the normal cotton laces in the AM1. I used the shiny laces in any GL3s I have with white nylon toeboxes. Fits really well imo and are much better than the OG ASICS laces.

doug3fresh I sold my 2009 QS for 200 before the anniversary hit the scene. I just looked over a few places and you can find them from 100-300. Unless youre specifically looking for QS', I wouldnt pay more than retail of a current restock red. If you're just looking for an OG retro, get a restock pair, otherwise look for 2005 HOAs. Hope this helps.

I agree with this if you want a red pair get the anniversaries or look for a pair of the hoa which are mostly unwearable at this point. However I picked up the 09 “QS” of the blue pair recently because the blue is the actual blue from the OGs, and I got them ds cheaper than a pair of the royal anniversary’s. The royals from the anniversary pack albeit darker than the original blue are great to, I need a pair Nike needs to stop restocking the reds for the 100th time and restock the blue pairs.

Aquas came in from the livestock sale. Shout to whoever posted that link. Glad to have completed the OG retro set.

Forgot about having to swap the laces though. Wish the shiny ones stayed tied.
