Just rewatched the fight again.. bruhh didn't notice this last night. This jackass edmond really say after the first round "beeeeaaauutiful" Ronda didn't not a single thing beautiful in that first round. If he was a real coach he'd said stopped trying to box with her and get her to the ground.

Ronda loses to no other 140lber and below.

Got to give props to Holly bc I feel like people aren't giving her enough credit. That was a full sized *** whuppin from beginning to end. Nothing fluke about it

There's nobody else in the division that can do what Holly did, but if Ronda loses an immediate rematch I don't see Ronda sticking around being the #2 in the division, especially after all the "one in a lifetime athlete" promotional bs. I dont think her ego is prepared to go from that to being #2 in the division indefinitely. And there's no 145 division so she can't change weight classes.


If they give her a couple fights in between then that's a different thing. But she gotta change camps and really focus on fixing the holes in her game.

Her other option is grudge matches with Cyborg and Miesha I guess, but I can't see her sticking around for long if she can't get that belt back from Holly.

Floyd is bigger, faster, stronger, more athletic than Holly, has better footwork, and would have far more power in the check hooks and straight hands that Holly was catching Ronda with all night, to the point where I doubt it takes him more than a couple good shots to hurt Ronda.

The x factor is how Floyd wouldve defended against the clinch/takedown/submission. If he managed to escape like Holm did then he beats Ronda, if he doesn't then he loses.

But we'll never know because Floyd doesn't train MMA, so the whole argument is completely hypothetical and anybody claiming to know for sure what happens one way or another is talking out of their ***.

I rarely if ever watch mma.. And even when it comes Olympic time I rarely if ever watch judo or real wrestling

Went to an American high school and played football.. Football players were encouraged to participate in wrestling during the spring semester, still hardly if ever watched it even then with some of my friends doing it

We've seen Floyd make professional men look silly in the ring.. We've seen some of the very best in his weight class look out right silly and get flustered trying to actually connect on a punch

I ran track and swam growing up (and ran track in the spring semester).. There are a ton of high school boys who are far faster and stronger than the gold medal winners at the Olympics in numerous disciplines in both of those sports

And I'm not talking juniors, seniors or even sophomores.. There are a fair amount of 13 year old boys who faster than these ladies

When these topics come up I don't think full appreciation is given to how much stronger and faster even very young boys can be to the very top level women

It's gonna be rough for Ronda out here if she can't get back to #1. It ain't her fault the media overdid it but she gotta deal with the expectations now and based on the way she acts, I don't see that going well. Maybe she'll prove me wrong though.

True. Cyborg definitely has a puncher's chance. And if Holm could stop the takedown I don't see why she couldn't either. That's a toss up fight.

Ronda didn't respect Holly as a boxer or kick boxer. She thought she would go in there and impose her will like she has against every other opponent and beat them at their strong suit so she could look badass and say I beat her at what she supposedly does better than me.

Her corner should have told her to abort that plan after the first round beating and told her to stop boxing and try to take her down. She tried one or two of them throws she always does but Holly was ready 

If they fought again and dumbass Ronda doesn't try to box then she'd probably be the favorite.

I said this before. You can't really use your Judo if you can't close distance. Ronda couldn't close distance.

I don't know that she WANTED to stand and trade with Holly as long as she did. She just couldn't get in range.

Holly moved and countered beautifully. And when Ronda got in clinch range, she couldn't do anything with it.

145. It's the reason her and Ronda never fought. Technically Ronda used to fight at 145 but then dropped down to 135 to fight Miesha for the title. Cyborg cuts from like 170 so 135 probably ain't happening for her.
