The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

With an impressive win Islam should definitely get someone in the 5-10 range. Lot of the top LWs likely trying to avoid him at this point though.

Maybe they give him Tony as he moved up to #5 despite three straight losses lol.

I remember Hooker saying he was aaking for the Islam fight so he could be on the CKB card but Islam couldn't make June. Hopefully with a W, Islam can make a quick turn around and they make that fight for September. Have them on the Volk/Ortega card

Hooker was asking for anyone pretty much not specifically Islam from what I seen

They have history however going back to 2019, hooker dismissed Islam’s callout because he didn’t think Islam would sell tickets

Irish Fella prints money. Even in the age of illegal streamingZ That’s why he gets an instant title shot!!

Listened to Ariel on Dan's podcast. Can't say I'm surprised, but damn, when will these fighters realize how much money they're getting screwed over on. 175 mil contract with crypto.com and fighters see none of that. They should all just do what Conor did and say **** the shirt if they get nothing from that sponsor.

They won't. That's the point of the interview. It's an industry based on intimidation and bullying. Integrity and "fairness" are removed from the vocabulary.

Are there real journalists that cover MMA? Besides the folks at Bloodyelbow, Ariel, Luke Thomas, and a few others. No.

The rankings are bs because it's not computationally obtained or voted on by independent parties. The fighters can't fight unless they unionize or have bargaining power like a Conor, Nate/Nike Diaz, and GSP. How come Jon Jones hasn't fought in more than a year? Why do we have an interim title fight in a few weeks for a title that literally changed hands three months ago?

Everything is done to the detriment of the fighter and for the benefit of the UFC/WME.

SBG is trash. Conor made that gym. Besides him and I guess Johnny Walker, they have no UFC fighters and even their Bellator ones have recently had some big losses.

James Gallagher probably knew after taking his L. Hence the move to America and training out of Glory now.

Kavanagh gives big time Edmond Tarverdyan vibes.

That's one loyal man.

GSP got boxing lessons from Freddie Roach. John Dannaher (sp) was his BJJ. And he obviously trained with Tristar (at one point he also trained with Jackson's).

Dude has money and could afford the best coaching/facilities. I agree SBG doesn't have much talent in major MMA besides Bellator (maybe?).

At this point, ATT is a better training environment. They got Moraes, Masvidal, Porier, Harrison, Nunes (both), Santos, Rakic, Texeira, Arloski, Rozenstruik, etc. They obviously had JJ before. And Colby. Mike B has proven his competence.

I laughed when I saw Conor went with Kavanah for the Floyd fight. This dude literally went back to back coaching his guy against one of the greatest boxers and then one of the best MMA grapplers of all time.

Right now, Trevor Whitman and Eugene Bareman are the best coaches right now in MMA.

Absolutely agree on Trevor and Eugene

wish we could see Conor with one of them but his ego is too big

Islam was talking spicy about rda at the presser

Said conor slapped him and he did nothing. Basically just slandered his name when at the same time his manager is trying to make rda the next opponent lol
