"The Decision" in retrospect

It doesn't make him a quitter. But let's lay out some logic.

Kobe wanted help or he'd leave. Mitch responds by landing Pau.

LeBron wants help and the Cavs don't get him legit help. So LeBron leaves. Before you try and talk up the supporting cast. Name a single player that made an all-NBA team while playing in Cleveland? An all-star team (Mo being a second alternate doesn't count).

Because Mitch is a better GM than Danny Ferry LeBron is a quitter? Am I doing this right?

LeBron did what the Cavs couldn't, surround himself with championship talent.

Whoa whoa whoa...You wait ONE damn minute.  Jamison = Pau Gasol.

at his haters still using this sorry line when he must be an amazing "second' option since he's getting more MVP consideration then the supposed "# 1" option of that team.  First time in NBA history a "number 2" guy is considered the MVP more than the # 1 guy huh?

And then when you tell them Shaq and not Kobe was the first option during the first threepeat (which he was) they backpedal quicker than kids on bicycles without the handbreak. These stans are not only the DUMBEST stans in sports, they contradict themselves more than anyone else.

I still don't see the argument of how the Cavs didn't have the pieces for a championship.

They had the #1 seed... 60+ games won and you don't have the pieces for a championship???
laugh.gif
the lakers were barely making the playoffs in the west during those years when kobe was mad.

"I still don't see the argument of how the Cavs didn't have the pieces for a championship."

They didn't always play great team defense and "reliable" 2nd option Mo Williams played like garbage. And his defense would make Steve Nash look like Bill Russell.

Simple.

So what about those seasons of 60+ wins? They were just lucky? You don't win 60+ wins and "not be a championship contender."

He could have had help in the traditional way on the knicks or bulls. Instead he decided to form a "super team" in another man's building who is already finals MVP with along side another Olympian as well. lebron has more than help. Plus he had his mind made up and continued to have this whole spectacle having teams gut themselves and flying out GM's, coaches, and owners to his house.

he isn't some helpless saint that just needed some help. it's strange how people make it seem as if his only two choices were playing on the cavs or going to play with wade and bosh.

fact of the matter is he is just "one of the guys" now. He will be an all time great but he looks foolish calling himself a king. He was basically so scared he would never win and couldn't take the criticism so he chose to seek the easiest path to a ring

I don't blame Lebron for leaving Cleveland.

I also agree that they were title contenders, they had a shot while he was there. Just couldnt get it done.

What kobe has around him > What Lebron has around him.

<Are you stupid? Outside of LBJ and Andy, the team didn't do that IN THE PLAYOFFS.Are you truly this stupid? It isn't hard to understand. Reg season performance =/= playoff performance.

Let's see, Magic played with Kareem/Worthy, Bird played with McHale/Parish, MJ played with Pip/Rodman and a GREAT cast of roleplayers, Kobe played with an all-time dominant force in his prime and Gasol/Odom. But LBJ can't play with other great players?

Pathetic.

oh i'm sorry magic, kareem, and worthy all got together and decided to play on the same team?

bird, mchale, and parish signed contracts at the same time so they can all play together a few years later?

magic played around with a bunch of teams and fan bases when he knew he wasn't going anywhere? magic decided to become a rat and spy on other teams when he knew all along he would be going to the heat?

If lebron committed to clevlend than other stars would have came. it's very simple. Instead they were forced to make brash, aggressive, short term moves

he can play with whoever he wants. But his reputation takes a hit. He will be perceived differently. How do I know it's not just people on the internet? He lost the MVP to Rose who put up worse stats.

you can live in your dream world where lebron is in no way different than bird, magic, MJ. But it doesn't make it true

WHO CARES?

It's irrelevant how the teams cane together. The fact is that they DID, and that's help that these other players had on the roster for titles. WHICH YOU NEED TO WIN TITLES.

People here make Skip Bayless look like a sage sometimes...
